A bombshell filing out of Donald Trump’s election subversion case was unsealed Wednesday, revealing a trove of damning allegations about how the former president acted on and around Jan. 6, 2021.

Among the nastiest accusations in the 165-page document was how Trump allegedly reacted to learning from an aide that his vice president, Mike Pence, had been taken to a secure location in the U.S. Capitol for his safety.

Trump’s alleged response to that news: “So what?”

I'd be really disappointed if that's indeed the nastiest thing in the revealed documents

[–] Fades 63 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's not. It further proves things like his acknoledement of guilt, how he fired those who spoke truth about no proof of cheating, how Ken Chesebro himself called his alternate lists of electors fake and how it was just a ploy to give DonOld the opportunity to say they won and are working with the courts.

There are a lot of interesting and impactful details throughout the filing and another 200+pg brief is set to drop in the next few weeks from Chutkan with more of this stuff including testimonies

This is why is so dangerous calling him dumb. It brings that benefit of the doubt, that "he didn't know that this is not allowed", that "he is just dumb and did not know better", "he can't control himself" etc etc.

He then exploits every single opportunity given and avoids any punishment (he still did not get any!)

[–] Bytemeister 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He is dumb. The problem is smart conmen and fascists want to fleece his flock, and the easiest way to access his sheep is to cut the shepherd in on the profit.

Nowhere in the rules does it say ~~dogs can't play basketball~~ the president can't talk their cult into marching onto the capitol with the intention of hanging their own VP.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

He is dumb. Hitler was an idiot, too.

Being a moron makes autocrats more dangerous, not less, because they’re more easily swayed by evil opportunists, and are more likely to make deadly, impulsive decisions without thinking them through.

He’s said and done far worse directly in front of a camera. Behind closed doors? I wouldn’t be surprised if he was shooting tied-down kittens in front of school children.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You mean shooting down school children in front of tied-down kittens...

Name one person trump actually gives a fuck about other than himself. This isn’t a bombshell, it’s a giant fucking DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH moment.

[–] [email protected] 46 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Ivanka. He really likes Ivanka.

[–] [email protected] 43 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He'd still set her on fire and watch her die if it meant returning to power and avoiding prison.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 month ago

He'd set her on fire if he was cold enough

[–] Zachariah 7 points 1 month ago

That’s still just narcissism.

Trump’s heartless reaction to Pence being in danger revealed in bombshell filing

This isn’t a bombshell

yes it is bud, just because you don't have the patience to read the filing doesn't mean the rest of us don't either. There are important new details that the public has not heard about that absolutely matters in regards to his state of mind and intention based on what he was made aware of. This headline is talking about a small example of the contents.

No, this isn't gonna change MAGA's mind but it is still very important for the upcoming case that will not happen until after the election (which is yet another reason as to why it DOES matter.) Americans have the right to know about this stuff before the election and Chutkan has made that happen.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Right, but this specifically the pence thing isn't the bombshell so it's a weird thing to pick out here

Imagine being JD Vance, looking at all of the people smarter and more experienced than him with their shattered careers after working for Trump, and thinking "But I'm the one who will figure out how to ride this tiger to my own advantage!"

Rudy Giuliani went from being "America's mayor" to being an absolute fucking laughingstock, a man so generally reviled that he couldn't sustain an appearance on The Masked Singer.

Anyone, literally anyone at any level, at this point who thinks that Trump won't throw them under the bus at his earliest convenience is just actively seeking their own destruction.

[–] Bytemeister 27 points 1 month ago (3 children)

It's probably the best chance Vance has at the presidency. Roughly 50/50 that Trump wins, and I'd say there is about an 80% chance that Trump dies in office or gets 25th'd after a stroke. Those are pretty tempting odds to get in the presidency. Vance doesn't have enough pull with hate groups to get the Republicans nomination.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

Roughly 50/50 that Trump wins,

Don't you put that evil on us Ricky Bobby

I'd say there is about an 80% chance that Trump dies in office

Honestly I'd say it's that likely he dies on golf course

[–] Ultraviolet 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

My guess is that's the plan all along. When Trump said he'll be a dictator "but only on day one", he meant Vance would be a dictator going forward.

[–] cmbabul 3 points 1 month ago

Man I didn’t even think about that and I’m now I’m even more upset, anxious, and worried

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Vance is like the bizarro LBJ. Johnson's sole goal in life was to become President but he had absolutely no shot at it because he only had pull with hate groups (the racist South). Without question, he only got into the Oval Office because of a bullet to Kennedy's head. Kind of amazing that in 2024 locking up the hate group vote is enough to get not only the Republican nomination but also the Presidency.

[–] Bytemeister 9 points 1 month ago

To them, hate has been rebranded (or not depending on which political historian you talk to) as American tradition.

I don't hate gays, but it goes against American tradition.

I don't hate black people, but CRT poisons kids against American tradition.

I don't hate immigrants, but they bring their own culture instead of accepting American tradition.

Those are all sentiments I've heard from the (not quite as insane) right. It's horseblinders that let them march to the conservative drum, without seeing the neonazis and klansmen next to them.

[–] BambiDiego 7 points 1 month ago

It's hard to value a face when you're so used to having two of them.

what?! the guy who bankrupted a casino for short-term real estate gains? not a trustworthy partner? how could it be?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Quick correction: he bankrupted multiple casinos, at least some of which were fronts for Russian money laundering.

All the people in Trump's circle at this point are doing an all-or-nothing gambit hoping that they can seize power if Trump dies or is sent to prison.

Either their career ends in humiliation and shame or they get elevated to the highest office in the land without having to spend the money for it. Some might see that as a good gamble.

[–] UnpopularCrow 48 points 1 month ago (2 children)

In order for any of this document to contain “damning allegations” would require anyone who is already voting for Trump to have morals, critical thinking skills, and/or common sense. I would argue the influence this entire document has on voting intentions is in the single digits … and not percentage points.

That said, I’m still glad they released it.

[–] shalafi 18 points 1 month ago (1 children)

In this case, “damning allegations” refers to legal damnations, not popular opinion.

[–] UnpopularCrow 7 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I would love to believe that, but laws don’t apply to the wealthy and powerful in the USA. Trump has committed countless crimes and he is still running for president with a coin toss chance of winning despite sedition and treason. I’ll eat my words if he is ever convicted of anything that actually puts him in jail. But I highly doubt this document changes anything.

[–] Bertuccio 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

While sedation is also accurate, I suspect you meant sedition.

[–] UnpopularCrow 3 points 1 month ago

I've written about this story so many times since 2015.

Conservative woman went on The View TV show to defend Donnie after the 'pussy grabber' tape came out.

Another panelist kept saying 'pussy' over and over.

Finally the MAGoo woman had to ask her to stop using that offensive term.

They know what he is, and they don't care.

Trump's thoughts on Pence on Jan 6th:

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Getting real tired of these titles using the 'bombshell' descriptor. Anybody here really shell-shocked by these allegations? No? Is it simply yet another bunch of criminal acts to throw on the litany of accusations he is absurdly unlikely to pay for or even budge the needle on his approval rating in the law-and-order party?

Only bombshell for me would be a real image of him in prison orange behind bars.

[–] barsquid 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is not new information.

There were many years in the Trump Presidency I was looking for smoking guns... there are more smoking guns presented in this filing than all Clint Eastwood movies combined.
