Ohhhh you're totally right. I tried replicating OPs claim and searched for the video title "Building an Open Source Payment System - Sebastian Javier Marchano, Taler System" and there was no red bar. Searching for "GNU Taler" shows the red bar for that same video. It feels like bad UI, overloading the meaning of the red seek bar, but it seems like in this case, that's saying it'll skip you to when they start talking about it, not that you previously watched the video.

I'm sure it's tedious, but run those tests again, and when you do, before and after watching the video, go to https://www.youtube.com/feed/history and see if it tracked it. I understand you're logged out, but maybe you're somehow selected for a test of some sort of logged out experience.

That being said, I ran through your replication steps and could not reproduce it (even down to pulling up the same video). I also doubt that Youtube would create a feature useful for people logged out of their service, since they want to encourage you to log in because they get better data for selling ads.

~~Are you logged into Youtube/Google?~~ EDIT: I see your comment in another reply saying you're not logged in. Keeping the rest of my comment below for posterity

Youtube keeps a watch history, and allows you to resume videos where you left off of. This works across devices if you're logged in. This functionality is enabled by default, and can be turned off in https://myactivity.google.com/

https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/95725

These settings are on an account level and tracked server side. Since the history can be accessed across devices, the browser you use and cookie retention have no effect on the ability for the viewing history to be retained.

I don’t know if he’s ever been to space.

Shame there's absolutely no way in the world we can ever know if he's been to space. We'll just have to guess because of lack of recorded history.

It feels like the wording of the question could be swaying the responses?

In a hypothetical 2024 Presidential match-up between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump who would you vote for at this time?

It's all but guaranteed that this will be the match up in November, it's not really a hypothetical anymore. Previous polls had the question worded when Biden was still running, so it made sense it was a hypothetical. It'd be interesting to see if other polls with differently worded questions yield different results.

Also, interesting results from this question:

Although you are undecided, which candidate do you lean toward?

In AZ and WI, the undecided voters are leaning very favorably to Harris, about 10% points. Trump only leads the undecided voters by 5% points in PA and MI, with GA being evenly split in the undecided vote. Still though, the Combined Presidential Vote is basically evenly split in each of these states based on the polls.

It really seems like it'll be a toss up and will come down to getting the people who aren't sure they're going to vote to be motivated enough to vote.

what are you talking about? racist? I think they're saying that since ~2% of the population identifies as trans and more are probably eggs, we likely had one trans president before, but they weren't out to the public, or perhaps even themselves.

If it's any consolation, they haven't killed Google Voice. They haven't updated it since 2012, but it's still around.

Is it normal for a call center rep or lead to close customer accounts? I'd assume that the fraud department would be the ones making that decision and handling issues raised. Anyway, I'm glad you had the receipts to prove it wasn't your fault.

Totally agree. He is only looking out for himself, and if you're someone like him, you might get some benefit as well. He's not going out of his way to help anyone who can't help him in someway. And even if you can help in some way, the nanosecond he doesn't need you anymore, he'll abandon you.

I'm not sure about specifics, but generally, charging a battery with more power will charge faster, but puts more wear on the battery, decreasing it's longevity.

I didn't realize this was the season finale before watching and was mostly confused that was it after tonight's episode. Seems like they started more loose ends in that one episode, maybe in hope of another season, but it felt like it could have used an episode or two more to set that up better. Spoilers below:

The Acolyte - Episode 8 Season Finale Discussion Spoilers

  • I kept expecting the Green Jedi woman to ultimately be behind the destruction of the witches fortress. It still doesn't make sense that the stone structure could sustain so much damage from some paper burning. Maybe bad editing or something in the previous episodes, but seems like there's still a side of a story being withheld.
  • Reveal of Yoda (or yaddle before growing hair!) and who I assume is Plagueis was underwhelming. Either could have been omitted without issue. If they were going for fan service, focus on one. If it is Plagueis, does the timeline even make sense??
  • Honestly, I wish there were more episodes with the Lesbian Witch Cult which weren't all flashbacks. That conflict with the Jedi was interesting (for the two days it happened in universe) and could have explored more of that side of the force before it was killed off. I guess I'm in the minority based on the backlash that received.
  • Kung fu and lightsaber battles were pretty good. Is this the first time in live action a jedi has turned off a lightsaber mid fight? I think out of everything, the choreography was the strongest aspect of the series.

What'd everyone else think?

A U.S. Supreme Court opinion erroneously — and briefly — posted on the court’s website seems to indicate that the court will temporarily allow abortions in medical emergencies in Idaho, according to Bloomberg News.
