How do you shave your balls? Every time I've tried with my trimmer it pinches and tears my sack and I'm too traumatized to try it again unless there's a full proof bloodless method. Usually I just pluck as many as I can tolerate while I'm sitting around watching YouTube or somethin. But it's such a pain (literally). Pic unrelated

I've done them with a straight razor and it all comes down to technique and sharp blades. Sharp blades are most likely to cut hair than skin on a flat surface. Make sure to either use a new blade or strop your SR

Firstly cook your nuts, really steam your boys. You want them very warm and relaxed so you can gently pinch, stretch and wrap the loose skin around your finger. At that point it becomes much more accessible. I recommend doing this sitting. If using a straight razor use a steep, less aggressive angle.

For weed wacking around a post, pull it tight and if its too slippery, use a single slip of toilet paper to hold on. Once everything is in tension you may tread carefully with your razor(s). You may need to pull it in many directions to reach every spot.

That will get 50-70% of hair. For the rest I recommend squatting over a mirror. Again, make sure to pull everything in tension before hand and get everything very hot and steamy. Pubes are like spaghetti, they're softer when cooked.

Indeed "really steam your boys" is what I needed to hear today.

Overkill. Just run a Bic lighter over your sac 30-40 times.

i do this with my ass hair

[–] moshtradamus666 26 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I have created the perfect cicle, I use the same razor but I have separate blades, one for my face and on for genitals. New blades are dangerous for the balls so whenever I change my face blade, the used one becomes my new balls razor. It works pretty good. Trimmer on the balls is a dangerous game unless you buy one of those machines that are actually made for that.

You have a few options but there is no perfect solution, all have trade-offs.

  • Trimmer with skin safe guard. That's your trimmer but with a bit of plastic to stop nicking the skin. Doesn't trim that close, takes a long time and generally not the best result, but better than nothing and pretty safe. That's basically what manscaped sell, but don't buy it, it's overpriced.

  • A Good Razor. Basically just use a good cartridge razor of whatever brand you like (but not the disposable single use ones, they are hell, I usually use Gillette Fusion) some even have special intimate razor lines that are allegedly better but I didn't see much difference. This is probably best for the clean shave, does take some agility and practice to do safely but is quick and easy when you get used to it. Bigger con of this approach is it will get a bit tender and prickly after a few days, but that also depends on your hair type. Usually this is my go to.

  • Hair Removal Cream. Good for reaching spots that are otherwise hard to shave and lasts a bit longer than a razor but also has a few negatives. First of all, it STINKS, might no be an issue but worth noting. Additionally, it might not be suitable for you as it literally dissolves hair, so is pretty rough on the skin and can even cause a chemical burn if left for too long. There are intimate area variations but obviously they are less effective. Also depending how hairy your legs are, it can be tricky to not get any on there and be left with clumps of half dissolved hair on your hamstrings. I used Nads before and had good results.

  • Laser hair removal. Best in class, but is expensive, requires multiple visits and top ups (but the hair stays off longer and grows back thinner after each time). Haven't tried myself but know a few folks who swear by it. I think you can get a home kit but I wouldn't advise it as it's fairly dangerous and you don't want a laser burn down there, still with professional services.

  • Wax. Better results than the first two options but the pain is unreal, not worth it IMO.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Don't forget epilators! (For legs etc.). Also have the pain issue, but it does reduce after a few goes at it

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh dear. I don't even own testicles but I've used an epilator and I don't see that being a good time. The skin is so stretchy there.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Oh yeah, and the hairs have a lot deeper roots. More for the general discussion of leg hair etc.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

I used to shave, you can do it often and avoid regrowth hell. Recently I started getting waxed, shaft, balls, butt. Really worth it, smooth for weeks, I love it, women love it.

Yes it's painful at the time but not so much that you are tender walking to your car afterwards, it's a stinging pain and then it's done.

Plus you get the fun of trying to have a normal conversation about upcoming holidays with a woman who is pouring hot wax on your junk, an experience I would recommend to anyone who hates small talk.

I don't have that much experience, but your trimmer shouldn't pinch. Troubleshooting possibilities:

  • Oil trimmer blades
  • Get new trimmer blades
  • Get a new trimmer

Not much to share, I only did it once.

Just made sure the skin is stretched where shaving, and that was it. No cuts.
But I don't plan on trying again. The first 2 days were fine. Nice breeze. But then the stubble feels awful. It's like wearing underwear with coarse sandpaper, or better yet, steel brushes. Every, single, step,...

Considering that nobody sees it anyway, I am not trying again.

Good luck to you though.

[–] VaultBoyNewVegas 9 points 1 week ago

My brother did it once and ended up in hospital because he got a infection from a wound. Swore to never do it again and he complained for weeks of being in pain.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago

I've used a safety razor whilst sat in the bath before and it gets great results. Don't forget to make sure to tense the skin to get a flat surface to shave down or the results could be horrific.

I don't have a bath anymore so now I use Veet Men Intimate Hair Removal from Amazon - https://amzn.eu/d/5yPVyqb

Works pretty well.

[–] Dasnap 13 points 2 weeks ago

I actually found a normal razor to work better than a trimmer.

Also... try getting a stiffie during the process so your nutsack tightens up, makes it easier.

I've shaved my balls for decades at this point. Take a good hot shower for at least 10 minutes, or even better soak in a hot tub for 30-60 minutes. This softens the hair. Shampoo is the best shaving cream as it doesn't dull the razor blades as much as actual shaving cream. I pull the skin tight and go one pass with the grain, and one pass against. As others have said, that is delicate skin, and it cuts easily, so be careful. Personally I have yet to get better results with any of the various razors I've tried, so I just stick with my Mach 3

I trim things with an electric trimmer, but to actually shave I use a double edged razor. Some people are scared of them, and even a lot of the people who use them on their face are scared to shave their pubes with them. It's really not that hard though. I also don't see why you'd want more blades (which I think every disposable is like 5+), because that means if you fuck up and move your blade sideways your cut will be that many times worse.

The key thing, and this applies to all methods, is you have to keep the skin taut. You have to pull the skin that is being shaved, not just drag a blade across the loose skin. If you don't, you'll likely cut yourself. Along with applying to all blades, this applies to all skin also.

I use a safety razor. Never had a nick and replacement blades are so cheap they may as well be free

I have experienced the trimmer nicks as well, maybe a shaver would be better than a trimmer.

But i just use a razor now, either a multi-blade men’s razor or women’s body hair razors. Also i use conditioner instead of shaving foam, works just as well and easier to see what I’m doing.

Sack trimming is what ultimately converted me from electric trimmers to safety razors. Night and day. Even if I nick myself, the closest thing to a problem is NOT pain.

[–] TotallynotJessica 9 points 1 week ago

Don't use an electric trimmer. Use one you can have careful control over. Safety razors give a better shave anyways.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

In case you arent- never use an electric razor on your balls without a guard. And even then, I don't try to get it too close to the skin, just to shorten the hairs a lot.

Then if I want to go further, shaving cream and a safety razor is the way to go. Just try to smooth out the scrotum with your other hand to make it as flat a surface as possible.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

Phillips Oneblade.

No shit, it's an amazing razor for the pubes. Obviously doesn't cut down to 0 like a wet shave, but it's so much easier and comes really close. And I get ingrown hairs easily if I wet shave down there so it's perfect for me.

It's fast, it's reliably, easy and painless. 100% recommend for ball shaving action!

[–] Leviathan 7 points 1 week ago

Double edge razor, I haven't nicked myself yet. I definitely tore some skin with an electric razor though.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Word of warning, DO NOT use regular Nair down there unless you are fine with potential chemical burns on your nuts for a week. It's not fun, really really not fun. I'm not even sure I would use sensitive area Nair anymore, it just doesn't seem designed for coarse pubic hair. I use a Philips Oneblade now with the body groom attachment, I've caught the skin once or twice but I've found it's way better than any other electric razor I've tried in the past and does a good job. The gap inbetween the blade and stationary bit of the razor is smaller and harder to pinch your skin in.

I use a regular disposable fixed-head two-blade razer. I do it in the shower, and use the lather from my shampoo as shaving cream. You gotta use the off hand to stretch the skin flat so you dont have any ridges to catch, and shave in a direction that you never feel any snags starting (for me it's usually going from the center outwards, and slightly upwards).

I have tried various trimmers and never found one that could get a close shave without getting cuts. I also tried an epilator (a device that rips out hair en masse. Bought one made for girls because some reviews said its gentler). That works well for everything but the sack. Tried a couple different razers, but found that ones with too many blades dont navigate the tight spaces well, and ones with flexible heads dont give enough control to respond to the curves and very directional hair.

No matter what, you can't shave down there with the same "machete in the jungle" approach that can work for a beard. It's a more precise process, and requires a bit of practice to get good at. That said, I've been happy with my routine now that I've got it figured out.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I highly recommend the "Philips Norelco OneBlade Face + Body Hybrid Electric Trimmer and Shaver". The attachment pictured on the Amazon link is the trimmer with skin guard. I recommended using it for the bulk of the work when dry, then hopping into the shower, lathering up, and giving everything a thorough pass with a good disposable razor. I like the "Schick Xtreme 3 Sensitive" for that. You want to do this in a hot shower so that your sack relaxes and you can tug the skin. That will give you smooth surfaces to shave.

Personally, I recommend shaving the taint while you are at it. Taint hair can help retain smell. Missed Wipe & Ball Butter is not a smell combo anyone needs when all they want is to go down on you.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 weeks ago

From my experience, the occasional nick is just a part of the process unfortunately.

I find that, similar to shaving one's beard hairs, holding the skin taught tends to help. Also, just take your time - trying to be hasty guarantees you getting nicked.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I use a depilatory that is designed for intimate areas. Cream goes on, sits for 5 mins, then the hair wipes off.

i just keep em hairy

[–] Ekybio 4 points 2 weeks ago

Shaving Creme might work, since there are no blades involved

Try to get one that is not to agressive for your skin, maybe on specifically for more intimate parts

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I don't do it regularly, just when I start looking like a monkey, but here's what I do. If I just want to do it quickly I use the trimmer, maybe with a longer setting, because it pinches. Otherwise I use a regular razor, like the Gillette ones and a bit of patience, it's surprisingly easy not to cut yourself. Sometimes I use depilatory cream, but be careful, if you put too much or leave it on too long it will burn for a few days.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

I've had to do it twice in my life, and I cut the hair with scissors first then used a cheap razor much like these: https://www.voordeeldrogisterij.nl/premium-laser-twin-wegwerpscheermes-10-stuks.html?id=272026839 Came off painlessly.
