I don't have that much experience, but your trimmer shouldn't pinch. Troubleshooting possibilities:

  • Oil trimmer blades
  • Get new trimmer blades
  • Get a new trimmer

The Scandinavian model only criminalizes the clients, so I guess making their life's worse isn't the purpose. Still I am in favor of a fully regulated market with favorable working conditions.

Honestly it's fucked up how our school system treats children. We need to talk about racism but also about how children are not to be seen as some sort of human clay that we need to form into whatever we see fit.

Yeah, but Nintendo hasn't won a lawsuit, which means the code isn't illegal to share. They just convinced GitHub to take it down.

Thanks for your kind words, but I have grown in the last few years ;) Today I would never ever want to get famous fast. I think it's very tough to find any meaning and contentment for people that got famous "over night"

Hi Guys. Currently, my Raspberry Pi 4 is only running Home Assistant OS, which works quite well. In the last few weeks, I have grown more and more interested in paperless ngx and Nextcloud. Do you think my pi would be able to handle home automation and some light document management simultaneously? If so, should I install a fresh version of Raspbian or let HA-OS handle the Docker containers?

Thanks for your answers, and have a wonderful day :)

I've recently been made aware of the non-sustainable business of Spotify (and other streaming services) https://youtu.be/gDfNRWsMRsU .

I think the best solution for all parties would be a federated streaming service. Instances could be hosted by record labels or indi-Artists. Of course there needs to be a fair donation/subscription. (Maybe similar to Patreon - get some extra goodies for supporting your artist directly)

Does something similar exist already? I would rather put my money somewhere where small artists are actually paid fairly for their work. (And put my own works there as well)

Thanks for reading :) I wish you a very pleasant day and I'm looking forward for your input.

First, I want to say how great it is to see success in a social media platform not owned by some giant cooperation. That said, right now we are at a turning point where we can still change the platform in major ways and I think we all have a shared interested in Lemmy becoming the best it could be.

Let's face it, Reddit had many problems even before the API changes. The toxic herd mentality, over and under moderation at the same time, small posts getting drowned out by already big ones and so much more. As you probably are already aware of, social media can quickly end in filter bubbles, extremization and bringing out the worst of the human psyche. These are not problems simply fixed by better moderation. Rather, these are problems resulting from the engagement driven design of most platforms (Post controversial statement -> many comments -> Post gets delivered to more people -> even more engagement -> ...) I want Lemmy to be a place that brings people together instead of dividing us apart.

Therefore, I wanna start a conversation on what design changes Lemmy should implement in the future to make sure the platform remains humane and everyone can engage in respectful conversations.

I think a good starting point are the recourses of the Center for Humane Technology, like their course on Foundations of Humane Technology

I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions and ideas on this :)
