To be fair, I don't think the gag order included attacking the judge

Why even issue a gag order that will obviously never be followed if there is no intent to follow through?

[–] farcaster 130 points 10 months ago (2 children)

They just gotta keep up the illusion of consequences for Trump. Fines (which will never be collected). Gag orders (which will never be enforced). Bans from business and finance dealings (which will be reversed). But hey we're doing something!

It's infuriating. He gets treated with so much deference and kid gloves, and he's still acting like he's being persecuted. And the worst part is that his base eats it all up.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Someone should sprinkle some drugs on him. Worst case, he has to deal with Eric sniffing him for a day.

[–] NABDad 12 points 10 months ago

We have a rule against cruel and unusual punishment.

[–] Tyfud 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Just put black ink in his orange spray tan. For one day, maybe he'll be treated like a minority in America. That should terrify him.

I'm surprised they don't just declare that he paid the fine successfully rather than go through all that trouble to lower it.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 10 months ago (1 children)

It's embarrassing at this point. "Don't make your Trumpanzees send death threats to my clerks." Donald makes his Trumpanzees send death threats to the clerks. "Oh, okay, you can post a much smaller bond and have some more time to get the money."

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago

“Ope, jeepers gosh, looks like you’re still having trouble with it, we can setcha up with a ~~zero~~ negative-interest payment plan there so once yer done makin’ those payments, you’ll get a li’l reward to getcha back on yer feet”

[–] tacosplease 18 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The gag orders lately have been leaving out the judge, prosecutors, and their families. Wouldn't want an appearance of bias. What's a few death threats between friends?

[–] Tyfud 9 points 10 months ago (1 children)

As I understand it, it reduces the chances of an appeal if they don't include themselves in the gag order.

[–] tacosplease 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah that's definitely what they're going for. It just seems like a huge overcorrection. There is way too high of a chance that somebody gets killed by one of Trump's supporters. What appeals court is going to throw out a conviction because the judge tried to protect themselves and the prosecution from political violence instigated by the defendant?

I guess if nothing else, it's a paper trail and another thing that can be added to a list.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice 4 points 10 months ago

They might be waiting for the people to finally do something about it. The government is infiltrated with members who put the well beings of very few over the majority of the people. We are improperly raging against the machine

Won't someone rid me of this meddlesome ex-president?

[–] Furedadmins 28 points 10 months ago (3 children)

His mom should have swallowed instead.

[–] NegativeInf 32 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Given the history of the Trumps, I really don't think Fred gave her much choice in the matter.

He’s proof of why abortion should be free and available to all.

Someone came in her rubber boot and let the flies do the rest.

You know I’ve decided to like trump. I think I’d like him on the wall best.

[–] FenrirIII 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Better reinforce it first.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 10 months ago

Oh it’s okay, I’d just like to hang the top. The rest can probably go in the bin.

[–] nuachtan 4 points 10 months ago

Judge: "Don't do the thing or there will be serious consequences." Trump: Does the thing anyway. Judge: Does nothing. Trump: Smirks.

Judge: "I'm serious this time. Don't do the thing again or there will be serious consequences." Trump: Remembers what happened last time, does the thing again anyway. Judge: Does nothing. Trump: Smirks.

Judge: "I'm super duper serious this time. Don't do the thing again or there will be serious consequences." Trump: Remembers what happened last time, does the thing again anyway, says "what are you going to do about it?". Judge: Backs down, Does nothing. Trump: Smirks.

Judge: "I'm super duper serious this time. Don't do the thing again or there will be serious consequences." Trump: "Fuck off, I'll threaten anyone I want." Judge: Backs down, does nothing, again.

The next judge: "That's it, this is your final warning!" The media: "The courts are sick of this! They'll put a stop to this next time!" Everyone else: Presses X to doubt. Trump: "Fucking lol."

[–] [email protected] 11 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Seriously. I say again: Trump will die outside of any prison or jailhouse, having never been locked up, likely without even an ankle bracelet, of natural causes, while living a 1% lifestyle.

We should all be dialing back our expectations, fucking dystopian and infuriating as that may be.

[–] twistypencil 53 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I'd be ok if he went to jail

[–] KneeTitts 28 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Why is this "innocent" man constantly attacking the children of the court staff? Why the children??? Hes pretty consistent about it too which is also strange and extremely dangerous.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 10 months ago

Isn't he fantasies about dating his own daughter or something like that?

[–] Mirshe 7 points 10 months ago

Because children can't defend themselves or fight back legally, whereas the judge can. Trump knows the judge has to maintain his veneer of impartiality so he doesn't open Trump to an easy appeal, so he'll threaten and attack the people around him instead. It's the old mob trick of "well gee, if Bobby ain't getting off, well..."

Me reading Trump news

[–] [email protected] 36 points 10 months ago

He says as he hasn't been thrown in a hole for doing exactly this, repeatedly.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 10 months ago (2 children)

If Trump went after my daughter and I were the judge on his case, he'd immediately go to jail and be fined to the maximum extent.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 10 months ago

Agreed. I admit I may be looking for a reason to justifiably put him on ice for a bit, but I'm astounded at the restraint of a judge when a figure with a history of weaponizing hillbillies targets someone uninvolved in the current case. Even mafia didn't target the innocent relatives of doomed wiseguys.
