Literally the opposite of this is true. Not having kids is one of the single best things you can do for the planet.

(Still want to raise a child? Adopt! There are so many kids out there looking for good homes and people who will love and care for them)

[–] [email protected] 45 points 5 months ago (9 children)

Not entirely accurate. Shit hits the fan before this changes too much and we are in much debt. Also infrastructure is somewhat of a fixed cost. I.e. being fewer people does not reduce infrastructure emissions.

Antinatalism isn't ab answer to the problem, but might be a reasonable reaction.

That being said I do not want to advocate for having more children or put the blame for the systemic issues on the individuals suffering from them.

some infrastructure, but by no means all. But I think my stance has always been closer to “if they wanted me to bring in additional players, they should’ve made the game more fun to play”

Population decline will be the socio-economic epoch which finally puts an end to obligate growth capitalism, and the initial demographic crisis will force us to reprioritize how we use resources and technology to support aging populations. Historical materialism goes brrrrrr.

Refusing to make children for the capitalist machine is just good praxis.

We could just let people with babies immigrate into the country easily instead of forcing people already here to have extra.

Oh wait that's not the right kind of baby? Weird.

[–] Leviathan 67 points 5 months ago (2 children)

How will you pay for them? Figure it out, loser!

[–] [email protected] 26 points 5 months ago

Where will they live when the planet is actively killing us?

THATS THEIR PROBLEM!

[–] [email protected] 26 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It's your fault for not being heir to an apartheid-era emerald mine fortune, really. Should have chosen better parents.

Elon musk is just firing more and more people. What he want these kids to be? Steve Jobless?

[–] marcos 22 points 5 months ago

He wants people to give him money, not the other way around.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 5 months ago

He and his dad have a pregnancy thing. They both have some weird breeding fetish

[–] Deestan 46 points 5 months ago

Pls refill workforce

No, we aren't paying you a living wage to make it feasible

Juck get fucked

[–] [email protected] 39 points 5 months ago

I feel like at this point you could just do the opposite of whatever old musky says and you'd be doing pretty alright for yourself.

[–] [email protected] 39 points 5 months ago (1 children)

I would like to ask that woman if she is pregnant right now. If not, call her a hypocrite

[–] ChicoSuave 10 points 5 months ago (2 children)

You'd need to know if she is having unproctected sex. Exclusively unprotected. And no birth control. Babies can't happen if she's taking birth control.

Is this some stupid religious marketing campaign

[–] [email protected] 19 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It literally is. Everylife, the guys behind this, are a Chrisrian diaper company.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 5 months ago

It does sound like they're full of shit.

[–] AngryCommieKender 13 points 5 months ago

At this point Capitalism is a religion. They pay as much attention to the real world facts as religions do.

This important PSA brought to you by Christo-Fascists everywhere!

[–] [email protected] 31 points 5 months ago

decades of don't have kids if you can't afford them and now it's "have kids! They yearn for the mines!"

[–] damnfinecoffee 27 points 5 months ago

Can't wait for my vasectomy next week

[–] [email protected] 26 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago) (1 children)

All you need to know is that Everylife, the company behind this campaign, is a diaper trading company that officially pushes Christianity and fights "companies that have promoted the weakening of men in American society" and that "are pushing anti-family, anti-American agendas".

This is such a fucked up combo of right-wing politics and diapers I can't even

oh i'm having sex, non procreative, that is

[–] Resol 23 points 5 months ago (6 children)

I literally can't take care of my own life well enough, how do you expect me to be a good parent? This is why I'm celibate.

Also, I feel like there's enough people in the world already. Why do you guys need more than 8 billion people?

[–] Chriswild 15 points 5 months ago (1 children)

It's a house of cards that requires new souls to suffer for the wealthy. There will never be enough people to sate the desire for infinite growth.

Ok, can you guarantee they will someday have a college education, housing, and Healthcare?

"NO! HAVE KIDS AND A SELECT FEW WILL WIN THE GENETIC LOTTERY AND BE ACCEPTED, THE REST CAN SUFFER."

This is hilarious.

Musk first came into my view talking about how earth is overpopulated and we need to go to mars to survive.

[–] TellusChaosovich 19 points 5 months ago

Sure, cool. Make health insurance cover my IVF then.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 5 months ago

[–] BlackNo1 18 points 5 months ago

MKAE MORE WORKERS FOR US TO GRIND TO DUST

[–] [email protected] 18 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

capitalism requires constant population growth in order to sustain itself. The idea of unending exponential monetary growth cannot be sustained without unending population growth. for this reason every business, and every form of capitalism is doomed to eventual collapse. The only reason why it keeps going is because our fucking governments keep propping it up. this is why Elon musk's greatest fear is under population

[–] Etterra 16 points 5 months ago (1 children)

More of a white Christian nutcase thing than a capitalist thing specifically.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Hell no. I struggle with being responsible for my own life and you want me to be responsible for more lives?

I'm so glad that someone leaked that Roe v. Wade was getting overturned. I scheduled my sterilization and I'm so so happy. There is still a LONG waitlist to get sterilized.

No babies, no periods, no cramps, no mood swings, life is good. (Bilateral Salpingectomy and Endometrial Ablation are an awesome combo)

[–] [email protected] 9 points 5 months ago

looks at sign.

Looks at woman holding it

"Alright, let's go."
