Grandpa could be GenX and his grandfather fought the Nazis. Fascism is coming back because few people alive remember it.
It took less than a decade between the Greatest Generation dying off for their kids to enable fascism.
If that's all it takes to get uninvited then they weren't interested in being family anyways. That would be an A tier joke in my family.
