If I were a landlord I'd cut them a deal where they pay me in cash but I refund them 200% in 1099A forms every month for free infinite money.

Let them deal with cashing them instead of me, problem solved.

1099a is used to report the acquisition of property. Like in a foreclosure.

The renter tried to foreclose on the landlord for the property he was renting.

In other posts I've seen, sovcits believe that each us citizen has a trust held by the government, which can be "accessed" by claiming it, or portions of it, through a 1099a, which is the root of their obsession w/ 1099a. (As far as I understand their underlying beliefs)

Honestly I have a lot of sympathy for sovcits in a way I never did before. It's people trying desperately to find some sort of clause in the shitty social contract that we live in, only to find out that it's all made up for the ruling class' benefit, regardless. If only they could focus on collectivism instead of their hyperindividiaulism.

I bet those are people voting libertarian or Republican as the "best" alternative.
These are complete shitheads, they are not trying to find social justice, they are trying to find loopholes, to get out of any responsibility.

These are complete shitheads, they are not trying to find social justice, they are trying to find loopholes, to get out of any responsibility.

So they are post-"fuck you" but pre-"I got mine". Bold strategy for them.

Brainwashed people are victims too dude and libertarianism is usually a detour in many people's journeys to leftism from the right.

[–] GoddessOfGouda 25 points 9 months ago (1 children)

A big problem with libertarianism is that republicans also flock to it when their own party doesn’t go “far enough” with its free market policy. The best route is to move to the left after becoming disillusioned with libertarians, but a lot of them unfortunately move towards anarcho capitalism— which is like, absolutely insane shit lol

[–] VindictiveJudge 3 points 9 months ago

Anarcho capitalists should be forced to play Bioshock 1 on a loop until they get the message.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon 34 points 9 months ago

That's actually not quite true. They're largely really shitty people who don't want to pay child support and mistreat their children and steal. A handful are stupidly desperate but they mostly just have a lack of morals.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 9 months ago

Huh? Most of them strongly attempt to take from the collective without paying in, or supporting others. Exhibit a: using public roads without wanting to pay taxes.

These people are takers and would be thrown out of any legitimate connection or union

[–] [email protected] 19 points 9 months ago

Mostly they just try to get out of paying child support

[–] [email protected] 15 points 9 months ago

Right? The only "secret trick" that can save people from getting into this situation is that there is power in working together and forming tenant unions. Not some funny "state national" nonsense.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 9 months ago (1 children)

The dangerous thing about them is that they are liable to lean to authoritarian fascism if they think that they could benefit from it.

[–] Delphia 11 points 9 months ago

This is why I dont feel sorry for them.

Society may be unfair (rich vs poor) but they actively try and make the system them vs us. They are quite willing to try and rip people off (knowingly or delusionaly) with no care for the people who dont buy into their bullshit.

[–] StaticFalconar 4 points 9 months ago

The collectivism route sounds like a route to a cult. Either way you know its bad when people minds would literally snap and live in a dreamworld than actively do anything useful to help shift it.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon 58 points 9 months ago (1 children)

(Please don't think I post this thinking that rent, landlords, and capitalism do anything but suck the rigid cock of Satan. I just think the fact the landlord is supposed to buy into being paid this way is funny.)

[–] [email protected] 28 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Rent sucks but trying to defraud someone you signed a real lease with is fucked up.

Dislike a system all you like, but when you enter an arrangement with someone you are obligated to uphold it

If only capitalists and corporations had honour.

I looked up 1099a, it seems to have something to do with collecting debts on abandoned property... Not sure how you would use that to pay your mortgage?

[–] homesweethomeMrL 63 points 9 months ago (1 children)

It’s just possible, though exceedingly unlikely, that you have discovered a fatal flaw in their logic.

[–] MrJameGumb 18 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Every new thing I hear about these people amazes me... Do they just get random forms from the IRS and pretend anyone will think it's worth something?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 9 months ago (1 children)

They don't just get random forms from the IRS, they actually create their own forms and submit them!

[–] muffedtrims 9 points 9 months ago (1 children)

He only had the 3 star forms. He needed to submit the 5 star form for proper payment.

[–] SkippingRelax 7 points 9 months ago

Without prejudice!

[–] carl_dungeon 22 points 9 months ago

“Trying to pay” yeah or trying not to pay.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 9 months ago (1 children)

OP, you’re a regular in these groups. Can you get some support to get these people to all agree to use a sovcit Facebook marketplace? So that they can all fight each other over who gets to screw who over and they can be the victims of their own idiocy so maybe some of them will wake up to realize what they’re doing is nonsense?

And then post 100x more drama to this community every day? And maybe quit your job so we can all enjoy it full time?

[–] BonesOfTheMoon 11 points 9 months ago

They do have a website called Lawful Living that has an app. Maybe a marketplace would work there.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 9 months ago

If it's not in my bank account, you haven't paid me.

[–] setsneedtofeed 5 points 9 months ago

Landlord be like

[–] [email protected] 5 points 9 months ago (1 children)

This one I actually feel genuine pity for, they're in a bad situation and seem to be dedperately seeking any way out. There even seems to be a glimmering hint of recognition that this approach isn't going to work. Having said that, most of them just serm to be trying to rip off society and get no sympathy.

[–] Dkarma 9 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Most landlords are willing to work with people. Name one person u know who would accept a 1099a form as payment for anything.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 9 months ago

That's the frustrating part, they could avoid so many problems just by engaging with the real world.
