Something I really hate about drive through ordering, is once you drive up to the kiosk, you're committed, at least if someone comes up behind you. Once you find out the ice cream machine is once again down, it's either drive through and come out empty handed, after waiting behind the car ordering dinner for an entire family, or get something else you don't really want, at a higher cost.

Yup, they're called grid tie inverters, because they tie a into the grid. They're not able to be a standalone power supply, and you typically need a battery bank to be able to do so.
