Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Felon-Running-For-President Who Promised To Be A Dictator Wants Your First Amendment Right Violated

Even better headline.

[–] JustZ 4 points 2 months ago

The media is complicit.

[–] Lost_My_Mind 2 points 2 months ago

I knew before I even clicked the topic that it would be pointless to get excited over the idea of poinhing this out.

You're the only human commenter, and thats the comment. It's such obvious bullshit that I KNEW someone was going to beat me to it.

Convicted Felon argues against the Bill of Rights.

[–] [email protected] 48 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The scary part is not that this idiot says these things

The scary part is that he has a well funded following

Drump is only part of the problem

The other part of the problem are the millionaire and billionaire backers that keep this circus of the insane moving.

[–] timewarp 15 points 2 months ago

The scary part is that he has enough extremist followers in law enforcement & sitting judges that it is possible they'd claim an interpretation of the law in someway where it actually happens.

[–] BreadstickNinja 40 points 2 months ago

Alito is a rancid cyst on American democracy. Jail me, clown.

[–] [email protected] 35 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Blatant fascism from the GOP nominee? Who would have guessed?

Yes, Trump is a problem. But the problem runs deeper.

If not Trump, another useful idiot.

[–] tacosplease 6 points 2 months ago

Useful-er probably. If they can get the votes.

Here's to hoping the bag of rats eats itself long enough for the Republican party to split.

[–] barsquid 32 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The Second Amendment fans who say that their guns are to defend the other rights will actually do nothing about this clear and present danger to the First Amendment.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 months ago

will actually do nothing

Even worse, they're cheering it on.

as of August 2024, 55% of Americans actively disapprove. of the Supreme Court enough to voice their criticism on a poll.

Truly the avatar of free speech right there.

[–] jaybone 20 points 2 months ago

The Supreme Court is no longer part of the checks and balances it is supposed to be. It is now controlled by MAGA. Along with half of Congress. So that only leaves the White House now.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes 18 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Sweaty and gross and nervous.

Off-putting face.

Dude went from Fritos original to Chili cheese flavor.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago

We should run this by each of them and ask what they think, then remove any who agree

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Of course any Magoo will just defend this as "ThAtS nOt WhAt He MeAnT! He SaId It'S aBoUt InFlUeNcInG tHeM!"

To be honest I kinda hope they do take that defense. Could be a nice time to bring up all the ~~bribes~~ gifts to conservative SCOTUS "justices."

[–] ATDA 14 points 2 months ago

While I explain to family for the thousandth time Facebook fact checks, even if biased, aren't a first amendment issue ..

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 months ago

Yeah, let me guess, the convicted felon also thinks he shouldn't be punished. If there is someone's opinion that is less valuable on this topic, I don't know who it might be. He literally wants to protect his cronies from prosecution so they cam protect him. Blatant public corruption on a scale rarely seen in this country. Dare I say Putinesque? Yeah, that's pretty apropos.

[–] Treczoks 12 points 2 months ago

And I say they should be praised!

[–] frazw 11 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Why stop at the supreme Court. Maybe all judges should have this "protection".

Oh wait but then Donnie would be in jail.

Just be honest Don. You want to jail anyone who disagrees with you.

[–] AshMan85 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Next, people that criticise him

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

Pretty sure he already said that

[–] Clinicallydepressedpoochie 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The supreme court are an bunch of hacks! Come get me.

[–] barsquid 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Boofer and Corrupt Clarence are both rapists. See you in jail, my friend.

[–] Clinicallydepressedpoochie 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

I'ma learn law while behind bars and appeal to the Supreme Court myself. Then when I make my argument in front of them I'm just going to cuss those assholes out.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I don’t think Supreme Court works that way not sure you’d get to be there let alone talk.

[–] Clinicallydepressedpoochie 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

If I'm representing myself, who else would be there?

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You can’t really do that at supreme court

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

Freeze Peach!!!

[–] Sam_Bass 3 points 2 months ago

tell him to stop putting clowns in judicial robes and we might respect them more

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Pot calling the kettle black?

Is he asking to get himself jailed?

From https://www.theregreview.org/2020/08/10/coglianese-dissing-supreme-court/

"These horrible & politically charged decisions coming out of the Supreme Court are shotgun blasts into the face of people that are proud to call themselves Republicans or Conservatives.”

and

“Do you get the impression that the Supreme Court doesn’t like me?”

[–] Maggoty 1 points 2 months ago

Oh joy lese majeste laws
