Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.

If you had told me during the Bush years that there would be a Republican so evil even Dick Cheney wouldn't vote for them I may have jumped off a bridge.

[–] dhork 23 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (3 children)

Maybe Cheney got an ethics transplant along with the heart transplant

[–] [email protected] 44 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Nah, the GOP are trying to future proof themselves from criticism. They're banking on rose colored glasses being on for pre-Trump republicans.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Yup

Everyone sees how romney and liz cheney (and mccain before them) was praised as "the one sane republican" and want to set themselves up to be that when trump finally croaks and they can run "moderate republicans" again.

All these fucks vote more or less in lockstep with trump and the magats outside of MAYBE one or two issues. But they just don't like that they have no power in the party anymore and that trump has repeatedly demonstrated he can't get any down ballot candidates elected.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

X Doubt.

I'd guess something like he hates that Trump and MAGA in general keep getting cozy with Russia. And they've displaced inner circle NeoCon pals along the way.

[–] mojofrododojo 3 points 1 month ago

His kid is gay and he's read project 2025.

Note the only time they care is when it affects one of their own or themselves.

[–] meco03211 3 points 1 month ago

A literal change of heart.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

Nah, they just don't want to be associated with losers

[–] mojofrododojo 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

WTF? He's still alive? Why am I so cold all of a sudden?

[–] MegaUltraChicken 37 points 1 month ago

They give him a break from patrolling Azkaban every 4 years to vote.

[–] ccunning 23 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Why am I so cold all of a sudden?

Better check if you’ve been shot in the face

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

If you were shit then you might have to apologize to him.

[–] ilinamorato 40 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Do it, Donald.

Call Richard Bruce Cheney a RINO.

I need the laugh today.

[–] Plopp 9 points 1 month ago

You know he'd do it. With a straight face even.

[–] inb4_FoundTheVegan 29 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Too little too late Dick. This is the culture war road you set us upon. There are thousands upon thousands dead for your outright lies. Voting against Trump doesn't wash the blood from your hands.

[–] kerrigan778 28 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ah yes, renowned torture activist

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago

Just one of the many wealthy torture enthusiasts disgusted by the state of the modern republican party that they were 100% responsible for creating.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 month ago (1 children)
[–] return2ozma 6 points 1 month ago

The correct answer.

[–] EndOfLine 13 points 1 month ago

This guy wouldn't even vote for his own daughter's best interests. That says alot. Both about his fucked up priorities and the state of the republican party.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I mean, the alternative is Trump, so it makes sense.

[–] Beetschnapps 8 points 1 month ago

Blows my mind that there is someone capable of making the heartless evil shit stain that is Darth-Cheney, actually vote off party line.

Is this horseshoe theory? Where hippies and the heartless engineer of the Iraq invasion unite to stop the vagina necked swamp terror of monolago?

[–] peopleproblems 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This really is the weirdest timeline.

First the bell riots don't happen and now dick Cheney supports a progressive

What the ever loving fuck

[–] NotMyOldRedditName 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Were clearly in the mirror universe

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

At least there's a small chance I'll see warp drive happen within my lifetime either way.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

I’m scouring the internet for a birth notice of any Zephram Cochrane.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago (2 children)

He needs to crawl back into his hole. Who the hell was waiting for Dick Cheney’s endorsement to make a decision?

[–] Ensign_Crab 5 points 1 month ago

George W. Bush?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

I dunno, in almost all circumstances I agree that he should just keep his mouth shut and thankful no one is pursuing him for warcrimes .... But in this instance, he's not going to sway anyone to vote Trump by endorsing Kamala and he might influence some Republicans to cross lines or abstain. Really hard to see this specific act as anything other than a potential good (not altruistic, but still, in balance for the world, neutral to good).

are cyborgs allowed to vote? how does one mail in a ballot from the 3rd ring of hell, anyway?

[–] SpaceNoodle 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Hey now, my wife is a cyborg.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Fair enough. It’s mostly the remote mail in ballot from hell thing that bothers me anyway.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I doubt they'll be public about it, but I doubt Bush is voting for Trump. I can't for the life of me remember how many other living republican ex presidents there are, but if any are still kicking, I doubt any of them (being old school conservatives) would vote trump.

[–] MegaUltraChicken 6 points 1 month ago

W didn't vote for Trump in 2020 and said his dad voted against Trump before he died as well so you're definitely correct. W is now the only living GOP president other than Trump.

[–] Rapidcreek 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Goodness. I wish my 2006 self could see this... he'd think this was The Onion

If the idea is to help Harris win maybe they should keep this endorsement on the DL.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Does... Does this mean Harris actually isn't the lesser of two evils? Now I don't know who to vote for.

[–] PorradaVFR 2 points 1 month ago

So even he is not THAT much of a dick.
