Isn't electricity coming from burning fossil fuel in most of the country, if not all still, though? Also, thank you for the sane response.

[-] [email protected] -3 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 minutes ago)

The downvotes you're getting are because you didn't say "science" and said electric had something do with making gas stoves look bad. Basically, you can't have an opinion, because it's always "science". I get it, science is good, but that doesn't mean we ostracize people when they say something different. ~~Their~~ there has to be some discourse, right? Like the other person who commented on my question in a very snarky way like they're Einstein and I'm just Alex Jones or something. Lmfao.

Lmao. No worries, downvotes don't really mean jack on Lemmy. Let them downvote as much as they want. Fucking speak your mind, who cares?

[-] [email protected] -3 points 9 hours ago

How dare you. You're going to get chased out of this fucking post with spears and swords like I did when I asked my question. 😂 People on the internet always have their fingers on the trigger. You can't even fucking breathe without getting attacked. How dare you say something they don't agree with.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 12 hours ago

Could you elaborate?

[-] [email protected] -2 points 12 hours ago

Why is everyone all of a sudden against gas stoves? Lol

[-] [email protected] 21 points 12 hours ago

Is it supposed to look like something else and it came out this way, or is it done purposely? I can't make out anything else out of it. Lol

I like tbkse icons. Which ones are they?

[-] [email protected] 6 points 21 hours ago

Not sure if Bauh is available for Debian and it's derivatives, but it's an amazing software center. If anything, use synaptic on Debian. It's much better than any software center there.

Switching from Endeavour OS to Nobara

Hi all, I've been having issues with my favorite games on EndeavourOS Linux. Also, on top of that, an update the other day deleted my whole plasma desktop and left me with a skeleton of SDDM. I got it fixed, but some things are still wonky. I'm honestly getting tired of maintaining it and I just want something that just works for my video games and some coding. Nobara sounded awesome after some research. I do have a couple of questions for you all before switching:

  1. Is Nobara atomic? Immutable? Or whatever those distros are called.

  2. I have my /root, /home separate each in their own drive, plus a 3rd one for my steam and other games. Since I'm coming from Arch and I'll only be formatting my root drive, what folders/files will I need to remove from my /home directory after switching to Nobara so I don't have issues?

  3. Since I separate drives for everything, I'll be doing a manual partitioning when I install Nobara, and will be choosing btrfs for my /root so I can do snapshots with timeshift. My question is, does Nobara set up the subvolumes automatically for me when I do manual partitioning, or do I need to set them up myself?

  4. How hard is it to set up snapshots in grub?

  5. Or does Nobara have a back up tool already that already does snapshots?

Thank you.

I have a keychron V6 (it's full size). Solid plastic housing, baby kangaroo switches and KSA caps (these are close to MT3 and SA if anyone is wondering). I like the keyboard so far, but it's not loud enough for me. I like loud and clicky. My question is, does anyone here use a keychron V6/k10/Q6 or any full size with SA/MT3/KSA and kailh box navy switches? If so, how is it? Is it loud? Also, is it heavy since I read that these switches are 90 gm bottom out. Are the jade better?Baby kangaroo are 67 gm bottom out. I mostly code, not much gaming. I'd appreciate any input. Thank you

Hi all, I have a quick and possibly very simple question. I have a keychron V6 with red switches being delivered to me tomorrow. I just want to know what switches and keycaps will fit this keyboard? This is my very first mechanical/swappable keyboard and I know nothing about it. I want to try other switches, mainly brown, blue and yellow. Also want to have a different look keycaps every now and then. I've searched on their site, but I had no idea which ones to choose. lol Thanks in advance.

When will be your "this is the last fucking time I'm voting for the 'lesser of two evils', then I don't care after that, let this country burn to the ground"? For me, this is basically it. This is last election I'm going for that " lesser of two evils" bullshit. After that I'm done. It's just pointless. Let's hear it.

Hi all, I'm switching motherboards. No dGPU. Going from an Intel MB to an AMD one. I have my root partition on an nvme and the home one on a 2.5" sata. Do I need to reinstall, or can I just move the drives from the old MB to the new one without a problem? Figured since both Intel and AMD drivers are both baked into the kernel out of the box, wouldn't it just work and I'll only need to remove the Intel stuff? I'm running good ole endeavourOS with KDE Plasma if that makes any difference. Any insight is much appreciated

I have signed up about 3 or 4 days ago and still can't log in. I didn't add an email, just a user name. I answered the question and all. Is there anyone who can approve my sign up request? Thanks

Hello, everyone I have posted this question on reddit and thought I'd post here, too. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Edit: I have found the solution. For some reason kscreen was unchecked from background services out of the box. Checked and enabled it and everything is good now.
