It's not that he's refusing to say, it's that he hasn't unfrozen since being asked the question.

[–] astanix 54 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's absolutely insane to me that he is still in any sort of power after that happened.

He’s been running since last reboot, but not without errors. His Trump directory was damaged, and a new one was created when he stated endorsement.

I wonder if you had a time machine and went to McConnell day 1 as a senator and showed him that video of his future, what his reaction would be.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 months ago

Peals of hideous laughter at being able to fuck over us poors for so long.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

"My God, you mean I have that much control, for that long?"

[–] EmpathicVagrant 3 points 2 months ago

I was listening to him speak on C-SPAN a few years ago (pandemic) and heard him admit his grudge against democrats included a D whip letting a D congressman go over their allotted time by 3 minutes in 1987 and he’d never let it go

Because he knows that saying “yes, absolutely” will only lose him votes.

Nobody forget, he is the one that engineered the overturning of roe v wade, not Trump who only scribbled on shit with a sharpie.

[–] frickineh 20 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I don't actually think he cares at all, at least not personally. I think he sees it as an effective way to divide the American public and win political points depending on what he does and when, but I would be shocked if he had genuine moral opposition. Because that would require him to have genuine moral stances, and I think his only strong feelings in his entire life have been about getting and holding on to power.

[–] FuglyDuck 12 points 2 months ago (2 children)

He worked for decades to overturn roe v wade.

Do you really think that’s the actions of a guy that doesn’t care?

[–] frickineh 8 points 2 months ago

I really don't, at least not because of any strong moral convictions. I believe he cared a lot about abortion as a means to an end, though.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

He worked for decades on that to cement an unholy alliance between plutocrats and the religious conservatives.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Does it matter? He announced that he isn’t running for reelection, didn’t he?

[–] [email protected] 71 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Mitch McConnell refuses to say whether he supports a US national abortion ban

That's old-school Republican for "yes".

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 months ago

More like “whats in it for me?”

[–] Son_of_dad 29 points 2 months ago

I wish he had no power, who cares what this old fuck thinks about reproductive rights, he's gonna be dead in a year he shouldn't get a say.

[–] Got_Bent 28 points 2 months ago (1 children)

We need a national Mitch McConnell ban.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

He brings great shame to turtles

[–] NeptuneOrbit 28 points 2 months ago

True leadership

[–] [email protected] 23 points 2 months ago

He probably refused to answer because he was busy having a stroke

[–] tacosplease 14 points 2 months ago

Are we sure he's not just frozen again? Someone wave some turtle food in front of him and see if he moves.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 months ago

Based on his pauses, I'd say he's physically not capable of giving opinions after the holes in his brain

[–] TIMMAY 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Maybe he just cant remember which side he supports?

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 months ago

He'll remember in November. Guarantee it.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

what scares me is its to the point with that party that he is one of the better ones. they have went from their most shit politicians becoming the best of what they got.

[–] FenrirIII 15 points 2 months ago (2 children)

He's not "better." He's just more politically savvy. He's still a horrible person who deserves to burn in Hell.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Nah let him become the chew toy of Garmr, deny him any connection to his beliefs and grant him the worst fate since ancient greece.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 months ago

Im only judging him from what hes gotten done in his term. Not as him personally and yes for me I do not see a term that a previous president (in my lifetime) has done better. and many many have done much much wose.

[–] p5yk0t1km1r4ge 10 points 2 months ago

JUST RETIRE ALREADY MITCH YOU'RE LITERALLY A WALKING CORPSE AT THIS POINT GO AWAY

[–] solomon42069 8 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Funny cause I've been 100% behind the abortion of Mitch McConnell for years.

[–] LEDZeppelin 7 points 2 months ago

Lol. You give Bitch too much credit. He will be the first one to line up to vote for it

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

There's no way he doesn't.

[–] radicalautonomy 4 points 2 months ago

Every Republican supports everything that takes away every right for anyone who is not a wealthy, white, able-bodied, heterosexual, cisgender, Christian, male American citizen.

There, saved you from ever again having to ask stupid-ass questions of literal fucking Nazis. I'd sooner vote for a boil on my ass giving way to MRSA than to even consider pissing on one of these rat fuck's jellyfish sting, let alone vote for one of them.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

Could that looming stoke just hurry up a lil bit?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

He didn't refuse. His brain blipped and he froze for forty seconds staring at nothing. Try again when he resets.

[–] b3an 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Why do we give a fuck what his stupid fucking opinion is?

[–] jeffw 5 points 2 months ago

Because he could be majority leader
