It’s just more bullshit to distract from Elon Musk and his cronies destroying our democracy

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

A couple of weeks in and this dude is already grasping at straws.

[–] RagingRobot 58 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Government picking winners.

This would work itself out over time. No one likes soggy straws. It's actually caused some innovation. They have straws made from plants now that aren't too bad.

[–] FMT99 42 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Get out of here with your woke straws. If it isn't guaranteed to kill a dolphin every time I take a drink I don't want any part of it.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago

The pasta straws are neat. Probably cheaper/less complex to make too.

The King of the US announcing another decree after being mildly annoyed by something.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 days ago (2 children)

At this point, switching to plastic straws feels like such a reprieve. Can we keep him focused on little annoyances like this? Or making him hysterical that the 7-11 ran out of Cheetos?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

My issue here is him just decreeing anything he wants whenever he wants and that seems to just be accepted. My guess is he's annoyed that people are saying Musk is president so he issued a decree to remind people that he is king, but why is this being tolerated at all?

Idono what the correct solution is but paper straws apparently contain a lot of PFas and are really not good for anyone either...

Glass straws can break... And might contain PFas

Metal straws are also a safety hazard apparently... But seem to be the best choice...

Bamboo straws also contain PFas...

So... Just say no to straws?

These people are the worst fucking scum on the goddamn planet. Petty mother fuckers to the core...

"Did a Democrat do it? Ok then reverse it."

"But sir, this bill enures that oxygen is created so we can breathe."

"Fuck you! A DEMOCRAT passed that, reverse it! We'll make our own identical one and say it was our idea and oxygen never existed before us."

[–] Chainweasel 36 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Will it make eggs cheaper?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago

You know the answer to that ;)

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 days ago

I'm glad he's decided to bypass Congress for this very important And time sensitive issue regarding to our national security

[–] [email protected] 12 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I just drink out of the cup like a sadist.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Same, it’s so much easier

[–] [email protected] 31 points 4 days ago (3 children)

This is going to be the dude that tells americans to start feeding their plants electrolytes! Idiocracy is almost complete!

[–] ceenote 18 points 4 days ago (2 children)

At least in idiocracy, the president appointed the smartest guy in the world to solve their problems. Instead, we got Musk.

Idiocracy is the only movie that was a satire on its release but became a documentary over time....

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

Im sure black mirror will have a few episodes that ring true

[–] vegeta 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

But Elondo's got what plants crave!

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago

I'd say that Elondo is toilet water, but toilet water is useful.

[–] Bassman27 20 points 3 days ago

Had the check this wasn’t the onion

[–] JimVanDeventer 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I was just in the US and everywhere was still using plastic straws and cups anyway.

[–] spacemanspiffy 1 points 3 days ago

Yes by far plastic is more common still. I almost never see paper ones.

And when I do, I throw a shit-fit and hope our god emperor outlaws them. Or maybe I just don't notice or care.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 days ago (6 children)

Fuck paper straws but it is absurd that he is pursuing an EO on them.

We should either use plant based plastics for them or just not use them at all.

[–] Tarquinn2049 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, I've used some pretty good cellulose ones, they must cost 5% more to make though, so it's impossible.

The answer my friend is pasta. It's also something to nibble on if you are bored after your drink. Pasta straws are the best

We should either use plant based plastics for them or just not use them at all.

I mean, no one is forcing you to use a paper straw if you'd prefer not to use one at all.

Why? He's a pro at sucking even without straws

[–] PunnyName 5 points 4 days ago

That cock holster of a mouth is proof enough.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

Paper straws to heavy to lift with those tiny baby hands?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Betting Pool: Who will win? Straws or the wannabe despot? I'm putting my money on paper straws being stronger. Or is that a Straw Man argument?
