Are we sure this isn't a Musk alt account?

[–] BroBot9000 179 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Please put Musk in the title so that my spam filters actually work.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This may be the one good use of AI, an elonfilterinator

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 week ago

I think they're suggesting AI for when regex doesn't work because "elon" doesn't appear anywhere in the post despite being the image subject matter

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How do I go about blocking posts with particular words in the title? There's some topics I'm sick of seeing.

[–] shneancy 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

idk how it works in the browser or in other launchers but i use Boost and it's settings -> blocks and filters -> muted words

my personal block list is there for my mental health and sanity and includes: musk, elon, trump, donald, genocide, isreal, palestine.

i still see posts that simply ommit any of the keywords in the title, but there's significantly less of them, which is honestly perfect

it truly is. nature never imagined us having access to all the world's atrocities within the reach of our hand 24/7. empathy is supposed to make us bond within our little tribes, not get bombarded with words of death and misery across the globe

[–] juice702 107 points 1 week ago (2 children)

These Elon simps are the most pathetic people on this planet

[–] FenrirIII 11 points 1 week ago

Remember, Marjorie Green has simps too. The well of pathetic is deep.

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife 5 points 1 week ago

I think the clear worst example is when joe rogan said "this guy saved us" about musk. Not even "this guy will save us" - straight up imagining that musk has already done something heroic.

[–] Psaldorn 85 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Actually lethal dose of cringe here. I cannot fathom putting something like this out into the world unapologetically.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 week ago

They are so full of themselves they don't even see the cringe.

[–] [email protected] 64 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

I hate it here man

I'm so fed up with this stupid fucking Elon Trump situation

[–] [email protected] 41 points 1 week ago

Take a break from social media, honestly.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

Set up post filters,
block all posts with the words Elon and Trump in em.

Here's a guide for Eternity which I've written:
https://discuss.tchncs.de/post/6091026

Won't get rid of all the Elon/Musk spam,
but I'd say about 90% which is already a huge improvement.

Also blocking the news communities does wonders for mental health.
They benefit financially from feeding negative content, since research pointed out that those articles generate more ad clicks, while they don't give a damn about what it does to your mental health.

[–] [email protected] 54 points 1 week ago

It’s funny watching people do the same thing they did with Trump where they put him into imagery where he’s ripped and god-like. The reality is that Elon looks closer to fucking Baron Harkonnen.

[–] alekwithak 37 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Like Elon wouldn't be Superman's number one villain.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Pff, Luthor actually invents cool shit like power armor that can fight gods and he's still not even top 5.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

Elon could do that too, though. Some dude invents it and just change the inventors name to "Elon" and bobs-your-uncle. It worked for PayPal, SpaceX, xitter, Tesla, and etc.

[–] Zeon 36 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

I agree with what you said, but, you're literally using his social media site and most likely paying for that blue checkmark. No offense.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 days ago

Unlike the above, I do mean offense

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Paying Elon a subscription for a dumb icon and being a priority reply guy is loser shit. Full offense.

[–] Rhoeri 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nah. Using twitter makes them a loser. Full stop.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 week ago

noooo duuude all my favourite content creators are using it

( I am a completely brainless consumerist with not a single shred of critical thought )

[–] ajoebyanyothername 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

J. D.: [as Robin in a daydream] Holy inferiority complex, Batman! How low is my self esteem that I'm the sidekick in my own fantasy?

Turk: [as Batman] It could be worse, Robin. You could be Alfred the butler.

J.D.: [as Alfred] Damn you, sir.

Pretty sure it's this guy. Not sure why people are talking about him all of a sudden, though.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Now this makes me wonder how Ramaswamy would react if we all started calling him Vehk the Mortal

[–] ThunderWhiskers 3 points 1 week ago

CHIM is a powerful drug.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I'll try again with more context:

"Who the hell is ~~Dwigt~~ Viveek ?"

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 week ago

Not even a lore accurate Musk belly.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting 26 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Cringe on mains for a dude who would feed you to a woodchipper if it winked at him.

Tell you what, nobody's ever been this impressed with Elon. Everyone knows he'd grab a monkey by the tit. You only flatter him like this if you want something, and I hope the knowledge haunts him.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can’t leave me hanging here, man. While I don’t doubt for a second that Elon “would grab a monkey by the tit”, I need to know what that phrase means to you…

[–] Gradually_Adjusting 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The man lacks self restraint or discernment

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wild. Okay. Thanks for coming through. I have follow up questions, but at least I can stop squinting at that sentence 😋

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm going to to start using that phrase as much as possible.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean… I’m kinda partial to the image of a winking wood chipper, myself. This dude’s a linguistic trailblazer.

[–] Gradually_Adjusting 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I did invent the one about the woodchipper, but the other one's from Letterkenny

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

And he owns up to his sources. You, fella, win the BrundleFly interweb gold star ⭐️ today.

%100, guy knows how Elon's ego works and wants to get closer to him.

[–] athairmor 21 points 1 week ago

I’d bet dollars to donuts this guy accuses other men of being “Beta”.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

The S stands for South-african-apartheid-beneficiary

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago

I thought Musk was LeX Luthor

[–] jaggedrobotpubes 12 points 1 week ago

Even his imagination is bad. That counts as a hero in his head hahaha

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Maybe he's Clark Kent and Elon is Superman. Kind of a Jekyll and Hyde -like fantasy

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Where Elon’s cyber-gunt?
