Hey. Folgers is fine.. From a purely consumerist, apolitical standpoint anyway. The coffee is ok.
Is it great? No. It's not gonna win any contests on flavor. But it's perfectly alright.

Listen all I'm saying is that if Jim Holden could carry nine novels and 5 seasons of a TV show drinking something called coffee that contained no actual coffee and still love it, we can all quietly admit that folgers coffee is at least actually coffee, and mostly tastes like coffee. It's not bad, it doesn't smell of cigarettes like Starbucks does. It's just, ok.
Could you get much better coffee for a little bit more? Absolutely, and you should. But if someone offers you a cup and they pull out the Folgers tub you ain't gonna turn that shit down. You're gonna brace yourself for a perfectly passable cup of coffee. Then you'll go home because you gotta poop. Because while it doesn't taste of a crisp summer night atop the Columbian Andes, it does taste exactly like ok coffee.

EDIT: Apple TV+'s "For All Mankind" is considered by many to be the prequel to the book series.

Did these brands actually endorse Trump, or did he just yank them off the pantry shelf for a photo op?
He was using them as props for how inflation has raised prices of consumer goods.
He brings up inflation for a fraction of his speech, then mostly talks about immigrants, complains about non-issues with the Democratic party, lies about electric trucks, and complains about wind turbines killing birds.
Edit: he also said he wanted to take the Cheerios home after the speech since he hadn't eaten them for years.
There's no way he didn't take money from those brands
There are competing brands there. And by 2024, I have a feeling most brands that aren't being run by ideologues know there's way more risk being associated with Trump then not.

Why is American coffee in plastic containers?
Those two brands are, but most coffee is sold in vacuum sealed bags like the rest of the world.
Folgers and Maxwell House are pre-ground. The containers do a better job of keeping oxygen out. Pre-ground coffee goes bad quickly the more it’s exposed to oxygen.
There are some pre-ground Italian espresso brands that are famous for doing similar things.
