Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either [email protected] or [email protected].
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email [email protected]. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

It really is a numbers game. And we've got premium numbers for premium prices.
I doomscroll all till I realise it's not my subscribed feed.
I start with subscribed sorted by new. After that, I flick over the scaled subscribed, and then I go to scaled all
it does depend. if i'm picking fights, i view comments by new in my subs. if i'm trying to mindlessly scroll, i view all.
Usually just all sorted by new
Subscribed and every so often I search for new communities to follow
Subscribed. Being bombarded with global politics all day isn't good for anyone's state of mind.
Subscribed + scaled. But occasionally I switch to All + scaled to check if there is something new in trend.
All, but I block porn
Subscribed and if I want more after that then I go check all too but that basically means subscribed + memes as I have blocked around 400 communities that I'm not interested about.
All. I find new communities all the time!
I view all, sorted by Newest Comment and then sort the comments by New. I really only subscribe to things to get them federated with my instance (so many communities on other instances, I am literally the only one on my own instance subscribed to them so they don't show up on my feed at all before I find them) and to be able to quickly see a specific community by itself, if I so desire.
Subscribed, then specific communities by url (since sometimes smaller community posts don't show up on the frontpage), then All if I'm really bored.
All, same reasons as others, not enough active communities with my specific interests, the all feed is good though :)
That's how I used reddit too for many years, took a long time to curate subs, I hope a similar thing can come about in Lemmy
First Subscribed sorted by new, the all by Top X.
Local New first, once that is exhausted I view All New.
Subscribed, although there isn't much content so I'm trying to find posts on other places.
All - Top - 6 Hours
If I'm feeling cheeky I'll browse hot or sometimes even Scaled
Both.
Both, subsribed on new und all on active
All.
Usually All. I started that way to find more communities to sub but then got in the habit. Even with a healthy list of subs I still feel a bit limited on subscribed, see more activity on all.
Subscribed, and when I soon run out of content I switch to all.
I dislike Reddit as much as anyone here but god do I miss the sheer amount of content.
I've curated enough active communities to just browse Home every few hours. But if I'm curious, I browse All on occasion.
Both are set to Rising, and All excludes all subscribed communities.
All new lol. I look at subscribed after I get sick of all.
Subscribed - Hot is how I generally browse but I also check All - Top 12 Hours and All - New from time to time.
there isn't enough traction with the greater populace quite yet, so the lower volume of new posts, means one would be looking at all the same posts for days sometimes if only defaulting to their "subscribed" view, as apposed to all/hot all/newest ...... etc, where there is greater numbers of new posts, a lot of unwanted garbage to be sure, but more action
Viewing all is always a bad idea.
