I want to know how much of the "up to" 60k reward this person got and how they spend it.

[–] pivot_root 96 points 1 week ago (2 children)

You mean the $60k bounty? The cops will happily relinquish that $50k as promised. Keep in mind that the $40k will only be given if it leads to a conviction, though, and the bank will probably put a hold on the full $30k. But that's OK. $20k is still a life-changing amount, even if you won't get all of the promised $10k after taxes.

Hey, it's amazing what you can do with $5k. You can get a brand new iPad Pro for $999.

Money is just a number and slavery is freedom.

It was done on the clock. So the restaurant owner is going to claim it.

I don't know if this is /s or not at this point.

[–] Im_old 46 points 1 week ago

As someone else suggested, probably health insurance

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 week ago

Personal security

It's always surprising how little it takes for the rich to make people turn against others.

[–] whostosay 16 points 1 week ago

Feature, not a bug. It would be much more expensive for them so pull something like this off if our needs were met.

A $15 Big Mac meal made me angry, but this is it.

[–] errer 36 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Don’t forget letting Trump use them for a photo op

[–] Speculater 23 points 1 week ago

McDonald's is alt right as far as I'm concerned. Added to the Chick-fil-A bin of fuck sticks.

[–] School_Lunch 60 points 1 week ago (3 children)

He was carrying around the gun and a manifesto... he was trying to be caught. Dude probably was going out to eat every meal and getting frustrated that no one called the cops on him till today.

[–] [email protected] 54 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Carrying the gun seems particularly fucking stupid.

[–] [email protected] 60 points 1 week ago

Like suspiciously stupid. Getting caught, even if you get your manifesto out there, doesn't really help your cause. Disappearing; leaving a constant doubt of a professional killer hunting insurance CEOs would.

So here's hoping Luigi plays along for a couple weeks and goes "haha suckers, here's my alibi."

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And, from all accounts, this guy was not stupid - high school valedictorian, high honors in college, tech bro who made or acquired a ghost gun. My guess is the evidence was planted or he wanted to get caught. I mean, it was a ghost gun - he could have melted it down or broke it into pieces, etc. Why would he still have it?

Seems sus. The guy didn't look like the other photos to me and why would you keep evidence on your person like that? Why not ditch the gun and jacket? Seems like someone taking the fall so the cops and stuff look good.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You asked why as a reply to a comment that suggested he wanted to get caught. That would be the why.

Perhaps he wants to have his day in court and air out what these evil companies do.

The Golden Arches and their snitches deserve the single finger salute. On the other hand, what would you do if you were making minimum wage with pathetic benefits? $50k would be helpful, unless the clown buys a Dodge Charger.

[–] agent_nycto 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well, you would have to quit your job and go into hiding because the whole country wants to dox you and that 50k (maximum) would only get you so far

[–] SupraMario 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Is it 50k tax free? Lol or is is taxed as a bonus?

[–] ThatWeirdGuy1001 10 points 1 week ago

After a quick Google search it seems that it would be taxed as income.

I've always wondered why they don't just account for tax and just give them enough that after taxes is the amount stated but then ol uncle Sam can't get his fingers wet by shoving them up your ass.

[–] clutchtwopointzero 16 points 1 week ago

Oh you bet whoever did it will spend either on something frivolous or to pay for necessary medical treatment not covered by insurance due to some bullshit reason

[–] chiliedogg 11 points 1 week ago

I wouldn't count on that reward money.

Insurance companies aren't exactly famous for paying what they owe.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

It's worth noting that we don't know exactly why they called the cops. It appears the cops didn't know who he was until they had him pull down his mask. I'm guessing he was quite the sight after several days on the run, and probably several nights without much sleep. Some reporting also stated that they called the police on behest of an alarmed customer.

I can't seem to find any of these reviews on Google maps, what do you all think, removal or bad journalism?

Edit: they're on the Altoona Iowa ones, not the PA ones like the article also mentions.

[–] ramenshaman 28 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Looks like the reviews were taken down? Not seeing any on google maps

[–] [email protected] 44 points 1 week ago

Google frequently freezes reviews on places getting review bombed. Same thing happened to the hostel he was at, and even for much smaller places I've seen appear on the local news - that kinda thing

[–] Duamerthrax 36 points 1 week ago

Corps stick up for corps.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago

They take down reviews from review bombs. So. Keep a note and leave a review in a month.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 week ago

What’s great is that this will piss off corporate and management MUCH more than the average employee.

[–] RangerJosie 17 points 1 week ago

As it should be. Fuckin narcs.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Did they name the stooley? Who snitched?

[–] ChrisMcMillan 6 points 1 week ago

Doxing anyone? Snitches get stitches....

[–] modus 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It was Stacey. She's a fucking snitch.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago

God dammit, Stacey!

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago (2 children)

What's the source of that right thumbnail image
