That’s a very narrow segment of people though, and even for those people I would argue it’s a better use of time to just…buy fewer clothes in the first place. This sounds like a bourgeois solution for people with a sewing machine and several hours free to make clothes for themselves.

Some people who make these do it just for fun and to learn game development. Getting shut down is actually a badge of honor, means the company thought it was good enough to be a threat.

I guess the main benefit is clothes will potentially fit better, but isn’t the fabric still gonna be likely sourced from a sweatshop country? And isn’t it going to result in a lot of waste fabric as I cut out a template?

The old/indie/kid games also just load a lot faster, you can be playing in like 10 seconds, alt-tab them if you need to do something else and not have your computer be unusable.

I tried playing RDR2 recently and waiting minutes for it to load and having to focus on it for at least an hour to get anything done was a real turnoff. I’m sure the game is great but I just can’t dedicate the time.

“Incredibly inefficient” is a bit of an exaggeration, heat pumps typically run at an efficiency of about 2, occasionally 3. It’s better but not by orders of magnitude. Not gonna make much of a difference at 500 watts.
