I'll start. In my family, no one can get away with grammatical or spelling misstakes.

Not saying I'm from a conservative Muslim family with extreme emphasis on shame but if anyone knew I date people my head would be mounted on a pole

[–] [email protected] 14 points 7 months ago

Ah man. I grew up in an Evangelical Christian family, specifically Independent Fundamental Baptist. The most conservative of conservative Christians. The kind of Baptists who think Southern Baptists are "liberal". I remember when I had my first girlfriend in High school and my parents thought I might maybe possibly have had sex one time. I had not. At least not at that point. They Flipped. Their. Shit.

Can't tell if the spelling misstakes are engagement bait or just a sad irony.

[–] Crackhappy 12 points 7 months ago

It's bait of course.

Treating mental health issues, because they apparently don't exist.

Not taking shoes off at the door

[–] Crackhappy 4 points 7 months ago

Same here. No one wears shoes in the house.

Work.

Grew up on a tobacco farm, didn't matter what was going on, if there was work it had to be done.

Dang, are you guys like old world royalty, and wealthy as fuck?

Eating the last one of any snack.

Nobody. The last one must remain on the plate. Anyone who goes for it gets admonished.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

No one, until supplies are replenished. Once there's more than one it's fair game again.

Having dreams or being understood.

[–] Anticorp 7 points 7 months ago

My family is pretty chill. I can do pretty much whatever.

Fucker. Keep your hands off my poop knife.

Wasting food. Even if it was just a bit of rice left over, I'd be told "someone worked hard picking that rice" so I'd eat it. Even now, whenever I eat food I make sure to cherish it and eat every last bit of it! 😋

[–] Crackhappy 3 points 7 months ago (1 children)

I've worked in a rice field, it's hard back breaking work. So next time you eat some rice you better think of me motherfucker. ;)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I will! I will enjoy it more knowing how much hard work was put into it! 🍚

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 months ago

I’ll often leave food because I’m full. I’m conscious to not eat more than I need.

In this vain, why should the rice farmer and me both suffer?

I’ve watched a friend stuff himself for years with stupid portions of food and now he has gout and is an unhealthy weight, likely to be a burden on our NHS in later life, causing further suffering to many more people.
