Nice! All of my Reddit accounts got banned this week too! Including one that hadn’t even made a post in over 6 months!

I left for much less; A 24-hour suspension. Though to be honest, that was literally just the straw that broke the camel's back.
I got suspended for using the word "retard" in a scientifically and non-offensive context (ex: put bread in the fridge to retard the growth of mold). No way to appeal that obviously retar-- ridiculous decision.
All these Reddit bans I’m seeing are insane. At this rate, soon most of that site is actually going to be bots lol
I recently lost my 13 year old account for telling a Nazi troll that their actions have consequences.
Still trying appeals but not optimistic.
Literally thousands of unpaid work done as a moderator of 4 subs during that time.

I’ve been reporting people that hint at violence after I got banned for something that was 1000% not even close to a hint at political violence.. like not even being sarcastic. Anyway, the more banned the more people leave. Silver linings. Reddit era deserves to be over.

It's always been like that. They're parasite - they ruin the thing they latch on to, then they jump ship with fat stacks of cash and move on to the next product to kill.

I use this it doesn't work. In the sense that, to you your post may seem gone. But Reddit can and will restore them.
I use this exact tool when I left Reddit. They restored my posts.

I agree with applying healthy skepticism to any and all stories. At the same time, I can't blame a recent Reddit refugee for not fully trusting Lemmy yet. They don't know the environment here. It makes sense for someone to be apprehensive about repeating a thing that just got them banned somewhere else.
But I hope OP feels comfortable enough here to share their story some day.

I got a warning for upvoting a Luigi post (or a post that reddit deemed as "wrongthink"), the bot didn't say which sub or post that triggered it so it's kind of impossible to say for sure or even avoid getting banned from upvoting something they don't like.
Honestly, I shouldn't still be pissed about my ban but I can't help it.

Sitewide banned me for no discernable reason

I went with Tildes originally, but their admirable effort to only encourage long-form discussion works against growing a user base to be anything more than a Petri dish; people need those fast dopamine hits!

It was what I upvoted not what I posted.
Kinda nice to get banned though. I was banned from xitter for liking a comment critical of the muskman, it really helped reinforce that I needed to be done with that place though. Maybe I'll move on from Reddit before that happens...
My account was 11 years old when I left. Destroyed all my data, thank you very much
the data is not destroyed, it is only you that doesn't have access anymore... i am sure you can still buy the data from reddit
Once you're banned, do your previous posts and comments get deleted? Or do you just lose access to them?
You just lose access
You can still browse and your comments still remain up. But you can no longer post or comment further. I'll still get upvotes / replies to old comments. I just can't respond

Hey at least you got banned! I just keep getting network errors on mine which is clearly shadow banned since logging in on any other account on the same device does work normally.
