8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners.
The auto mod will contact you if a link shortener is detected, please delete your post if they are right.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

US Miliary personnel have worked hand in hand with the Canadians half a century doing everything from joint ops to sharing bases. I think a lot of them would simply refuse to invade Canada without congress first declaring an official war, and congress wouldn't do that because it would be horrifically unpopular with the US populace.
Congress is majority R, I wouldn't put it past them.

Canada got serious about pursuing the money behind the freedom convoy and designated a bunch of those groups as domestic terrorists. By law Canada can go after everyone who funded them which, unsurprisingly, is largely Russia via right wing organizations in the US.
Trump probably got a letter from the "Canadian bureau of land management" (Putin) which pleaded with him to take Canada in

My guess is that Medicaid cuts are the big one. Cutting Medicaid ain't popular. It would probably be very much undesirable for Trump and more-generally the GOP if that were the major topic of discussion on social media.
Canada is running down the funding sources behind the freedom convoy. A bunch of involved domestic groups have been officially labelled domestic terrorists meaning everyone involved in funding them is on the hook. A whole bunch of that money was laundered through far right wing supporters in the US.
