Wow, a DEC AlphaStation computer. That couldn’t have been cheap.

Only Mac OS 10 and later, based on BSD, uses ‘/‘. (And, I guess, A/UX.) Classic MacOS used a ‘:’, but it wasn’t regularly exposed in the UI. The only way most users would know is that the colon couldn’t be used in a file name.
A related question is how was the Anaximander originally staffed? Most of the crew seems to be people from other universes who were picked up as the ship progressed on its mission. Did the ship leave port with just Boimler, or was most of the original crew killed, making Boimler captain by attrition?
For what it’s worth, the Defiant is operated by only three people in “The Defiant,” the episode with Riker’s transporter clone. It’s enough to take out two Cardassian outposts, disable two warships, and threaten a shipyard, but they lack sufficient personnel to keep effective watch on a captured Major Kira. I don’t think it’s enough to operate long term, as there’s no one to keep up with routine maintenance, let alone damage control, and round-the-clock staffing will become an issue pretty quickly.
Indigenous names are heavily used. Half the states have Native American derived names, a much larger proportion than I thought. Pre-European population density was much lower, though so there were a lot fewer settlements to name.
It’s useful for people with unisex names like Taylor, Chris, or Jordan, especially in email, where you may not have any face-to-face contact.
Sucks for anyone named Jamie or Alex. Trump is acting like he won in a landslide, even though he wasn’t even able to scrape together a majority of votes; more people voted against him than for him.
No boom today. Boom tomorrow. There’s always a boom tomorrow.
I think you forgot a light. No worries, you have a few weeks to fix it before the cruise.
Kids, look for a build-your-own cannon kit inside the box! Limited time offer.
Is this even lawful? The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 is supposed to prohibit federal armed service members from getting involved in civil law enforcement, except in a few narrowly defined exceptions. Running detainment camps for immigrants does not seem to fall under any of those exceptions.
Jay seems to have a high proportion of Canadian visitors because it’s just south of the border and takes Canadian cash at par with USD.
This is not The Way.
