He’s not even in office.

[–] misterdoctor 91 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Am I crazy or do presidents-elect usually not get this involved so early and so publicly? Like he’s been meeting with world leaders and whatnot?

[–] [email protected] 63 points 1 month ago (3 children)

During the 2008 financial crisis both Obama and McCain had White House meetings to try and figure out a solution, that was before the election. But I guess in that instance they were all basically on the same team and Bush didn't want to set up his successor for failure, whomever it was (McCain would've probably done the exact same thing).

[–] [email protected] 48 points 1 month ago (2 children)

You know it's bad when you look back at Bush's time in office with a sense of nostalgia...

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I mean, I don't. He was terrible and I hate that Democrats are laundering his and the Cheney's reputations. It's just that Republicans have always been on a downhill trajectory, each President worse than their predecessor.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

"Could've been worse. Not sure how, but it could've."

Ten years later...

[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 month ago

It is nice to hear when politicians are actually working together to try and solve a big problem.

That would never happen with Trump.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

I miss the days when McCain was seen as right wing. He at least had integrity.

[–] [email protected] 50 points 1 month ago

They're also not usually constitutional forbidden from taking office, but he'll be confirmed in spite of that little issue in a few days

[–] FuglyDuck 14 points 1 month ago

You're not crazy. no.

But, eh, he's been meeting with World Leaders™️through out Biden's term, and that's really not normal either. (well. with the exception of the sitting president asking an ex pres to do some negotiating or something. That kinda happens.)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

It's partially because of the previous term, it's not the same as a random person about to be president for the first time.

There's still four more years of this bullshit... At least...

It's pretty hilarious that Trump voters are so psycho that even when people try to kill Trump it's still one of his supporters lol.

[–] AngryRobot 2 points 1 month ago

Every fucking time.

[–] [email protected] 74 points 1 month ago (3 children)

Imagine if you reached the point of Trump exhaustion after a month of Trump's campaign in 2015, and then learned it was going to continue for at least 13 more years.

[–] SidewaysHighways 24 points 1 month ago

I'm... I'm kinda glad I didn't know that

[–] Furbag 13 points 1 month ago (2 children)

The one thing keeping me going is that one day I'll get to wake up to his obituary. I think I might try and find a newspaper print of that and frame it. I missed my chance with Ronald Reagan.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

That's a nice thought. There'll probably be at least one mainstream publication that simultaneously reports on the inevitable parties in the streets. That'll be the one worth framing.

Hold on to hope; it's only guaranteed for 9 and a half years.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 month ago (2 children)

What was the news about the Cyber truck dude being a Trump supporter? I missed that.

[–] habitualTartare 62 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

In one of the letters police say were found on his phone, Livelsberger expressed support for Donald Trump and the president-elect's allies, Elon Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He also expressed disdain for diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and income inequality and expressed a concern about homelessness, according to the letters.

Source for above is ABC

[–] [email protected] 56 points 1 month ago (3 children)

This dude was a Trump and Musk fanboy and killed himself in a Cyber Truck outside of Trump tower? That's desperate as hell.

Our dystopia isn't very boring.

I fear that we live in... Interesting Times.

[–] Threadsdeadbaby 3 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Did you read his email? I don't think desperate. He wants everyone to listen to his whistle.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

No. Generally as a rule, I don't read dumb fucks' manifestos unless they do something useful like raise awareness about the asshattery of health insurance denials.

[–] BeMoreCareful 3 points 1 month ago

Are you referring to the civilian deaths in Nimruz?

I read through what I think is the email. It kind of sounds like some guilt and disillusionment mixed with paranoia over the Jersey drones and China.

I could see it as some sort of plea to Musk and Trump, but it's not easy logic to follow. Unless it's m just reading it wrong or something.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He also expressed disdain for diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and income inequality and expressed a concern about homelessness,

Right. So someone with no understanding of the world.

[–] Doomsider 3 points 1 month ago

Fox is a hell of a drug.

Matthew Livelsberger - August 19, 2020:

Here's a 2015 post from his former wife: " Sara Livelsberger posted a tweet made by President-elect Trump on her Facebook. In the comments she wrote, "I follow his Twitter … Just to get my morning motivation to kill someone."

Seem like such nice people.

Neither does the MAGA hats. They just spin it and jerk off at a new angle, perpendicularly.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

I like peeking at MAGA social media in the hours/days before the marching orders are given to see the chaos before they're told what to think.

[–] TheSealStartedIt 29 points 1 month ago

Humble request to put the word "Trump" somewhere in title or description, so that my filter works.. Nothing against this meme, I'm just tired of this person...

[–] someguy3 23 points 1 month ago (3 children)

I wonder what Fox is on to now to distract from that.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 month ago

Probably just going to lie about it.

"Biden forged the so-called suicide note to distract from the fact that it was actually an Obama paid Chinese Venezuelan left wing antifa immigrant! Our source Mr.Lieoutmyass Forlotsofmoney has the evidence but unfortunately he says his dog ate it."

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago

They just won't mention it. Plus there's an actual ISIS terrorist they can focus on anyway.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago

probably some whining about clinton's emails... by a half-nekkid blonde (cuz, ya know, ph is blocked in much of magastan. they gotta get it somewhere).

[–] Gammelfisch 20 points 1 month ago

...and the Panama canal takeover threat is associated with tax evasion. Half of the US voters support the orange clown and they have no idea about the disaster approaching at full-speed.

[–] FlexibleToast 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He isn't in office for another 16 days.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

As another comment pointed out, you wouldn't know it with all the meetings and dealings he's done since even before the election results came in completely.
