MAGA pitches a fit every day of the week that ends in y.

[–] robocall 3 points 8 hours ago

People like Megyn Kelly and Nancy Mace have always been a voice supporting the 1% and .01%. Obviously they will rally in support of the people that make it possible for them to get healthcare and earn a comfortable living.

[–] CharlesDarwin 16 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I think donvict supporters can be expected to pitching a fit over a lot of things, if the 2016 result was any indication. They got even more angry after their "win".

I think nothing will make that type happy, TBH, but I think what really got to them was that not everyone started treating them like they were special or something. If anything, people treated them even worse - tried to avoid them, cut them out of their lives, etc....

[–] tywarth 9 points 17 hours ago

Very true. They won the election and they're still bitching and complaint about anything and everything.

[–] CharlesDarwin 29 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

This guy seemed a little iffy in his background - I would think quite a few of the right are celebrating this guy. It would make sense the elitists are trying to pacify that bunch, and try to paint this guy as some kind of leftist, though...they probably don't want the base that has been groomed for violence to suddenly get ideas about a mass movement of vigilantes like this guy stalking and killing the billionaire class.

[–] Wrench 8 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

MAGA worship their billionaire overlords. And private Healthcare. Because the socialized programs many of them benefit from are from the devil.

[–] tywarth 4 points 17 hours ago

Which makes absolutely no sense considering the fact that Red States are widely more dependant on government assistance than Blue States.

[–] CharlesDarwin 3 points 18 hours ago

They cannot stand the idea that people they hate might benefit, too.

I bet if they could find some way of justification via other means, for instance, over arguments of "socialism" vs. "capitalism", they would find ways to make sure POC, liberals, women, gays, etc., do not benefit from the current system as well.

Of course, they really pine for someone - maybe donvict - that will let them do it out in the open, w/o the facade of "socialism" vs. "capitalism".

[–] HasturInYellow 4 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah ... That'd be terrible.

Watter's assertion that:

"He’s gonna get annihilated on the inside, and good.”

Is probably bullshit. To have the balls to walk up and ice the 21st century version of a vampire will be huge in prison. They hate corporate America just as much as we do.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 19 hours ago

Exactly, his actions are being received positively among the people who have been burned by society, which would have more representation in prison.

They frown upon murdering children and shit like that, he is probably gonna get lots of high fives.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 23 hours ago

This guy is gonna be protected on the inside if he makes it there

[–] [email protected] 141 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Trying to poison the right wing against someone who stood up for them and for all of us. And the sick thing is that it will work.

[–] TwoBeeSan 23 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

The elderly at my job all are rallied against the guy. Been trying to explain to them regardless of how they feel it's a lens into the public opinion.

Watching the media machines gears turn with this one are especially transparent.

[–] Olgratin_Magmatoe 14 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

If it is him, getting caught threw a wrench in the meaning of his actions. Before he got caught, the only news was about how evil the execs are. Now it's all about him.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Another reason we know it's not him

[–] Olgratin_Magmatoe 1 points 36 minutes ago

It's strong, reasonable doubt

[–] Goodmorningsunshine 19 points 1 day ago

Of course it will work. They are objectively terrible people that will openly celebrate any pain done to anyone, including themselves, if they just get to add one more ounce of hate to the world.

[–] TommySoda 73 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I went to r/conservative on Reddit just for fun and some of them are already flip flopping. Most are getting down voted to hell, but it was noticeable. But at the same time I wouldn't be surprised if it was bots trying to turn everyone against each other, as is tradition.

[–] rayyy 16 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Most are waiting for marching orders from dear leader.

After the headline-grabbing execution, questionable portions of the internet immediately began thirsting over images of the alleged killer while denouncing the corporate greed showcased by UnitedHealthcare and its peers.

Lol questionable.

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly similarly slammed Mangione’s declaration on X writing, “His ‘lived experience’ is about to be punctuated by 3 squares a day and a fear of showering.”

Fuck you.

…with far-right political activist and former political correspondent for One America News Network Jack Posobiec writing on X: “There’s a reason the left supports murderers who shoot businessmen in the street.

“It’s a feature not a bug.”

You make it a feature.

After news on Mangione’s arrest came to light on Monday, Fox host Jesse Watters weighed in on the 26-year-old’s potential future in prison, claiming that he’s “not ready” and that he’s “gonna get annihilated.”

“I don’t think anyone’s ready [to go to prison],” Watters said on The Five. “This guy’s not ready. He’s way too soft. He’s gonna get annihilated on the inside, and good.”

“If he’s not gonna get the death penalty, maybe someone will do him justice behind bars,” he added. “That’s all I have to say about that.”

You get a fuck you too.

[–] CharlesDarwin 20 points 23 hours ago

“His ‘lived experience’ is about to be punctuated by 3 squares a day and a fear of showering.

It's interesting how many still casually "joke" about prison rape in this country. At least when it comes to male rape.

If he’s not gonna get the death penalty, maybe someone will do him justice behind bars

This kind of pairs with the rape stuff. There are an awful lot of very gross people that wish for rape AND murder to happen in prison. The idea of our system supposedly being about corrections is a complete farce as long as so many people like that are among us....

[–] [email protected] 94 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Remember the cardinal rule of the right!

rape good, murder bad!

[–] CharlesDarwin 8 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

rape good, murder bad!

Well, unless someone they don't like is murdered in prison, because that's just justice...

Of course.

Unless one is murdering an unhoused man of colour causing a disturbance. Of course.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 day ago

Murdering miscarrying women by refusing them medical treatment is definitely a-okay. Supply-side Jesus loves that kind of murder.

Jesus, I didn't plan on reading and just these quotes alone get me. Fuck those people so hard.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The left supports killing businessman in the streets.

The right supports killing babies in their cots.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 day ago (1 children)

and kids in their classrooms.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If the public reaction to his gets one potential school shooter to rethink their plans and instead shoot a single CEO, that's a net gain. Bonus points if they start talking about gun control and Democrats reply with "it's too soon to talk about that, thoughts and prayers. Maybe install litter boxes in board rooms?"

All the Maga voters I know have been pretty supportive of the killer, despite the irony that they voted for privatized healthcare.

[–] ours 22 points 23 hours ago (3 children)

They fear "Government death panels". I wonder how they rationalize a "for profit, private death panel" being any better.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 hours ago

Under a private system, at least they get to choose which death panel denies their care.

My favorite is "communist socialism".

[–] [email protected] 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

My favorite is when people talk about communist Russia (a capitalist oligarchy) or china (a capitalist...authoritarian state?).

[–] FuzzyDog 3 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

For the life of me, I can't understand how people think Russia is communist. Like, at least the PRC is nominally communist and describes itself as a communist state (even if it's not really doing communism).

But Russia? The USSR was dissolved decades ago. The Russian Federation never claimed to be communist. Are these people just stuck in the Cold War?

[–] Aqarius 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

You're overthinking it. It's just a synonym for "Russian", or maybe "enemy".

[–] [email protected] 1 points 13 hours ago

Shaka, when the walls fell

[–] ours 5 points 23 hours ago

I tend to forget the impact of 7 decades of rabid anti-socialism propaganda Americans have been bombarded with. They are not going to think "Sweden" but "Stalinist USSR instead".

It doesn't matters who it benefits, it's the naughty word so it's bad. Keep voting for the leopards.

They haven't been told what to think yet. That's what's happening now.

[–] GladiusB 34 points 1 day ago

Wait until their demigod speaks on the matter...

[–] distantsounds 35 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Of course they would. They will be the “CEO’s” for the next couple years. Gotta squash it before it grows.

May their incompetency be their undoing

[–] [email protected] 4 points 23 hours ago

In general, with them it's less that they believe they'll be CEOs, and more that because of their belief in hierarchy, they believe that anyone in power deserves to be there and should be respected. Just how they believe that women and BIPOC belong below them on the ladder, in their "proper" place (yes even the women believe that, internalized misogyny is a bitch)
