Well, given his problem with Harris is that she supports abortion rights, he can just get fucked along with his opinions.

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer 25 points 5 days ago (1 children)

About the only "evil" I see in her is the pussyfooting with Netanyahu. Dude is straight up a war criminal.

[–] distantsounds 17 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (1 children)

She did say Israel will still be fully supported, which isn’t really just pussyfooting with a war criminal…it’s more enabling. I would also add fracking to the “evil” side as well. Don’t get me wrong, it is better than the alternative and the lesser of two evils, but still.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Regarding the fracking issue, what was she supposed to do there? Hillary Clinton said she was going to shut down coal mining and it was a major contributor to losing her the election as a whole. We didn't need a repeat of that.

[–] distantsounds 3 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Tout creating clean energy jobs and training for them. We are continuing to repeat this and pass this transition off. Not addressing climate change will not gain a young voters. HRC was terribly unpopular to begin with.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I think Harris could have had a more nuanced answer than, "Fracking, fuck yeah!" But it's a damn shame that, to win the electoral college you have to be all drill, baby drill.

Although that's politics... "It's great to be here in Chicken Fark, Arkansas! I know, in the past, I have been accused by my opponent of being opposed to chicken farking. But I'm here today to tell you that, if elected, I promise to fark more chickens than any president in history!"

Still voting for Harris, obviously.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

I think she panicked a little bit. She was asked the question, and thought, "Oh shit, this is what fucked Clinton," and didn't want to leave any doubt in WV residents' minds that she was going to take their jobs away, so she gave a clear, no-bullshit answer.

Obviously yes, it would be preferable that the overwhelming opposition to fracking from most of the rest of the country was enough to offset one very small, backwards state's fears, but that's not the country we live in right now. Maybe in the future.

In other words, do what HRC did.

"We are going to train you for different jobs" does not inspire as much optimism as you seem to think.

Why don’t you clean up your own house before criticizing others? Start with the pedo priests that the church likes to hide.

“bOtH sIdEs!” - The leader of a religion that has a well-documented, 1000-year history of sexual abuse, torture, turning a blind eye to genocide, and actually committing genocide.

I don't put much stock in the opinion of someone who actively protects and supports child abusers as to what he considers "against life"

[–] [email protected] 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Things the Pope and David Miscavige have in common for 1000.

[–] MegaUltraChicken 4 points 4 days ago

If the Pope murders his wife they'll have two things in common.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 4 days ago

Why does the tribunally selected autocrat of a foreign nation intent on raping children get to tell me anything about democracy or evil?

[–] [email protected] 30 points 5 days ago

Nobody asked you. Keep your creepy diddling religion out of our politics. Or start paying taxes.

[–] leadore 16 points 4 days ago

Let me just fix that headline: "Head of insanely wealthy organization that has sexually abused children for hundreds of years feels justified in calling someone evil."

[–] givesomefucks 22 points 5 days ago (1 children)

So Catholics lose tax exempt...

Right?

This is the literal head of their religion getting involved

[–] jordanlund 25 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

He's not actually picking a side:

“One must choose the lesser of two evils. Who is the lesser of two evils? That lady or that gentleman? I don’t know,” Francis said during a press conference on the papal plane, referring to Harris and Trump. “Everyone with a conscience should think on this and do it.”

He's equating Trump's anti-immigration policy with Harris' pro-choice policy.

He's completely ignoring everything else about Trump.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

C'mon, I mean Harris isn't perfect but the other guy has done a lot, lot, lot worse...

Ignoring the seriousness of Covid? Think how many died needlessly because of that. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/trumps-policy-failures-have-exacted-a-heavy-toll-on-public-health1/

Even ignoring covid, how many died under his health policy (or lack thereof)? Possibly over 25k: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/quantifying-health-coverage-losses-under-trump/

Heck, technically he's not even anti-abortion! https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trumps-abortion-stances-republicans-2024-gop-rcna147222

For anyone who is "pro-life" in terms of all human beings being and staying alive, I should think that backing Harris should be a no-brainer.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 5 days ago

He sounds like Glenn Beck. "Who's worse - Trump or Harris? I don't know. I'm just asking questions..."

[–] [email protected] 16 points 5 days ago

Your opinion is noted.

drops note in trash

[–] [email protected] 16 points 5 days ago

Shut up, Frank.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Hey buddy, we all know how broken our political system is... at least this time we can get a little bit excited about one of the options. There have been worse elections.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

Tell it to go away

[–] [email protected] 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Catholics don’t get a choice between two evils. They are stuck with a whatever evil is chosen for them.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

I'm fairness, I think after Ratzinger they did end up with the lesser evil. Still very pot and kettle though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

You knew about l'abbé Pierre, fucker. Know when to shut your trap and when to open it

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

Lesser evil pot, meet lesser evil kettle.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Fuck off and shut up Papist.

[–] JeeBaiChow 3 points 4 days ago

Well, as far as republicans go, they see one insurrectionist rapist convicted felon, and one liberal. Apparently the liberal is worse. They're just stupid at this point.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 5 days ago

HEY! Watch the disrespect! If there is one thing Catholics know it is being EVIL so maybe the Dope knows something?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

Anyone else ever get the feeling Francis is just a bit dumb?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago

Not gonna lie. The bar is so incredibly low that, at the risk of invoking dril, at least Child Fucker In Chief acknowledges those are some pretty evil beliefs about immigrants.
