"Apparently, the enemy is striving to improve its negotiating positions in the future," Putin said Monday. "But what kind of negotiations can we even talk about with people who indiscriminately strike at civilians, at civilian infrastructure?"

My guess is that Ukraine is not inentionally targeting civilians, which is a significant difference.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 3 months ago

A very significant difference.... vast majority of Ukraine's over-the-border strikes have exclusively been military camps, infrastructure, and usually energy/export infrastructure that Russia uses for oil revenues. The right way to conduct a war.

If they were, we wouldn’t believe it. That’s the double-edged sword of lying constantly.

What we need is a frying pan.

Who's gonna bring the fire?

I'm surprised he's publicly acknowledging this improves Ukraine's negotiating position. He seems so paranoid about it that he thinks he needs to get ahead of Russians pressuring for peace by portraying Ukrainian soldiers as monsters.

Double-think

[–] Rakonat 18 points 3 months ago

Bruh indeed. If Ukrainians were half as bad as Russians have been in their strikes, Belgorad and Kursk would be flattened rubble, St. Petersburg would be full of husks of buildings and there wouldn't be a single intact hospital within the city limits of Moscow. But yeah, please go on how Ukraine is attacking civilians.

Russia is the Katie Ledecky of gaslighting.

He speaks truth 🤣😄!

Putin - "Oh no the consequences of my own actions!"

[–] [email protected] 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It's cute that you think Putin is feeling any of these consequences himself.

[–] [email protected] 41 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He is. They are striking gas refineries and abilities for Russia to make money. As Czar, that hits him in the pocketbook.

I like the image of Putin with a purse.

[–] FlyingSquid 12 points 3 months ago (2 children)

You know, I mean it’s the same thing if a man carries a little bag, a little purse in his hand, you know? That’s all it is, it’s a little purse. It’s a purse; that’s all. Some guys can’t handle that word. Some guys who carry them can’t even call it that. They’ll say, “Where’s my little bag?” I say, ”fuck you it’s your purse. Pick it up and get out of here will you?” I mean if you can’t handle the word, don’t carry the bag. That’s all it is a little purse. I got one, big deal. What does it mean? But some people like to taunt you they’ll say, “Is that your purse?” And I say, “Yes it is and I have a picture of your mother in here sucking off an Indian.” And that seemed to satisfy their curiosity.

George Carlin was angry at the world....and rightfully so.

[–] FlyingSquid 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, we lost a national treasure when he died. I was really lucky to have seen him live. I think he had a cold, because he sounded sick and he was a little off, but it was absolutely worth it anyway.

[–] Lost_My_Mind 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Lucky. I wanted to go see him when I was 7 years old in the late 80s. My mom wouldn't take me. She said "he says 7 things you can't say on tv." I said "I know. I want to hear what they are."

My mom decided that wasn't a good enough reason to go take her 1st grader to a George Carlin show in 1989.

[–] FlyingSquid 1 points 3 months ago

How dare she!

[–] aeronmelon 3 points 3 months ago

George Carlin would win an argument and THEN turn it up to 11.

[–] Lost_My_Mind 16 points 3 months ago (3 children)

Who is downvoting you??? I used to think it was a bot going around downvoting people, but now I think it's one asshole guy just going around Lemmy, and downvoting EVERYTHING.

Or maybe it's two guys. The two muppets in the balcony at the muppet show who hate everything.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Russian astroturfers. I would have hoped lemmy was too small for them to care but they are here. They are doing a horrible job and Putin should arrest all of them. They need bodies for the border anyway.

[–] Archer 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

If they were doing a good job, then Russia coverage would be more pro-Russia wouldn’t it? They can always get women to operate the troll farms, gotta feed more meat into the grinder at the front!

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago

They have to be discreet. If they're too obvious they'll get called out and their efforts will backfire.

[–] AngryCommieKender 5 points 3 months ago

I don't think Statler and Waldorf hate everything, they're just old AF and see everything as an absurd waste of time.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 3 months ago

I didn't downvote them, but I understand why. It's a meme reply brought over from Reddit and dropped everywhere, which adds nothing of value.

The dildo of consequences sometimes arrives covered with fragments of broken glass

[–] Rakonat 7 points 3 months ago

Honestly Russia is getting off easy in this case, if Ukrainian invaders had the same barbaric attitude the Russians had moving into Eastern Ukraine, we'd be seeing a lot of fucking warcrimes, rapes and looting as the army moved through. It's possible there are isolated incidents of that, but on the whole I've not heard any reports, where in summer 2022 it was a weekly fucking thing for video to pop up of Russians doing just that.

[–] eran_morad 36 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I order putin to choke on a fat dick.

[–] werefreeatlast 3 points 3 months ago

They could collect fallen ruzzian dicks and keep them in a freezer for when putin keels over. I can see it now in the news..... this morning putins burial site next to the Walmart dumpster was found to be covered with real frozen dicks.....

Not a lot of guys would volunteer for the war if they saw where their dicks would eventually collect.
