Former President Donald Trump’s youngest son, Barron Trump, has declined to serve as a delegate at this summer’s Republican National Convention, according to a senior Trump campaign adviser and a statement from Melania Trump’s office.

“While Barron is honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declines due to prior commitments,” the statement from the former first lady’s office said.

Barron Trump, who turned 18 in March, had been selected by the Florida GOP to serve as an at-large delegate at the July convention. Several other Trump family members – including Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump – were also selected as delegates.

I wonder if this is a sign that the apple perhaps did fall a bit further than expected from the tree… but at this point, it’s far too soon to tell.

Honestly, despite the fact that I think his father may be one of the worst people living in this country at the moment, I’m willing to give the kid the benefit of the doubt. Kellyanne Conway’s daughter, after all, delights in fucking with her mom, and actually seems to have her head on straight. The same thing could happen here. The way his parents are PRing this kinda smells like they’re entirely handling his media exposure. Sure, it could be true and it was just a conflict. But it could also have just been him outright refusing, and them spinning a yarn to save face. Time will tell, I suppose.

I feel bad that his path was set for him from birth, but there is no way he's not being politically groomed. Considering how they will pedestal Mike Lindell, Kyle Rittenhouse, even Linda Tripp... here they had a young, impressionable child - God knows what he's been told during his most formative years. None of us were born understanding politics- I didn't even really know anything beyond the names of the parties until I was 21ish...

Honestly? I feel like there’s a good chance he knows what’s up. And I think he probably understands why most people fucking HATE his dad.

The real question is basically whether or not he’s been pulled into the bro-y frat-y toxic incel shitshow. And frankly, the fact that he’s been conspicuously and (as far as I know) entirely silent on the political front makes me suspicious he may just be biding his time until he can get out from under his dads thumb.

This is my thought as well. I hope he can make it out of there sooner rather than later. Go to college as far away as they’ll pay for then keep going when you’re done.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 6 months ago (2 children)

Does he use social media? I feel like I've never heard or seen a peep from him.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 6 months ago

I think that’s extremely intentional

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago

I think he used to use twitter at some point. But this is at least partially me recollecting an old meme.

Let me start by stating that I do not think his mother is a very good person. For multiple reasons. However I don't think she is the monster her husband is. I don't have a link to the video currently. But I remember back in 2015-2016 8 years ago. A 10 to 12 year old Barron Trump and Melania being interviewed by inside edition? And the thing that struck me the most. Was that this child born in and raised in the United States. Had been so isolated and insulated from everything not just his father. He spoke with the accent of a Slovenian immigrant. What little he did speak.

Mind you that isn't a dig at his intelligence. Because I'm sure he probably does speak his mother's native language as well as english. Which is more than many of us could say. But the fact that he was so isolated not just from his father but from everyone else around him. That he didn't speak English like a New Yorker or just naturally at all. It really tells you who he was raised around. Which can give you some hope that he won't be the outright monster his father is.

I think it's important to remember that Trump became a monster not because of genetics. But because of his father. That fuck, Fred. Not to mention his frigid mother. However Fred Trump was such a bastard it was celebrated in song. Buy one of America's great socialist song writers. And unlike the rest of his siblings. He latched on to his abusive father and they became inseparable. His father feeding his mental illness.

Considering how Donald generally treats Baron I don't think he's going to have a lot of affection for his father. He was whining so much about needing the day off for Barron's graduation. Yet he couldn't even spend a whole day. One single day celebrating something like that. Because. His election is so important to him that he cannot take one full day to spend with his son.

I think it's pretty safe to say whatever Baron becomes good or bad. He's likely to be his own man. Not a carbon copy narcissist like his father or leaches like his Step Brothers.

Oh yeah. Dudes gonna be in therapy for the rest of his life.

That’s not a dig on therapy, or people who have it incorporated into their mental health care - I myself do it. Just a statement that he’s surely got REAMS of stuff to work through because both of his parents and all of his siblings are varying shades of psychotic.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Reagan - whose father paved the way for the Bush/Trump syphilis parade

[–] [email protected] 53 points 6 months ago (1 children)

WOOO! He didn’t do it!!

I’m pulling for Barron to reject his family and flip left.

[–] Glifted 23 points 6 months ago (2 children)

That seems optimistic, but hey the kid is 18. Who knows who he'll turn out to be?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 6 months ago

Yeah probably.

He needs the opportunity to choose the right path before we condemn him just because of his blood.

[–] scutiger 10 points 6 months ago

Hopefully he grows up to be a decent human being

[–] dirthawker0 48 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I'm pretty sure it was Melania who noped him out of that. It wouldn't surprise me if Trump didn't bother actually asking the kid if he wanted to do it before trying to shove him up on stage.

[–] [email protected] 36 points 6 months ago (3 children)

I'd imagine the idea of using the child she was carrying when he cheated on her with a porn star in the middle of his criminal trial for paying her hush money as a political pawn didn't sit right with Mels.

[–] billiam0202 12 points 6 months ago

Nah, I bet she didn't give one flying fuck about that (until it became public and made Trump look bad [well, worse]). There's no way Melania didn't have ulterior motives for marrying Trump- it wasn't love, it was money/power/promises/Russian handlers that created that relationship. Reportedly one of her bodyguards is her own side piece.

This was Trumpty-Dumpty doing one of his "power moves from the 80s"- claiming that Barron was going to be a delegate, forcing the RNC to either accept it or risk losing face/the wrath of the MAGAts. It's not the first time he's done that before.

So many brand new sentences are happening because of orange Moussillini.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 6 months ago

Holy shit this has me dying! It's so fucking true lol

[–] [email protected] 7 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I've seen the ex first ladies tits

[–] Railing5132 6 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

I mean, I'm no prude, and sex workers deserve every labor protection available, but Trump was bitching and whining about immigrants taking American's jobs when Melania got to the US on a tourist visa and worked before having her work visa. Also, while everyone has seen Melania's tits, and I think it's demeaning to the oval office, Nancy Reagan was the throat GOAT.

[–] shyguyblue 40 points 6 months ago (3 children)

Stolen from another post, but what the hell kinda of party nominated someone who has never voted before, to be a delegate!?

[–] maniacal_gaff 41 points 6 months ago

Seriously, this is like trying to bring back the monarchy. Fuck the GOP.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 6 months ago

A desperate one

[–] njm1314 4 points 6 months ago

It's not like being a debate actually matters this year, or most years really.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 months ago

I’m pretty sure that’s even better for us. That family is fucking toxic.

[–] kikutwo 30 points 6 months ago (1 children)

On account of me being a child and having absolutely no experience in anything whatsoever, I hereby decline.

[–] AdamEatsAss 10 points 6 months ago

"he regretfully declines due to prior commitments" AKA he's too busy smashing poon and ripping lines.

[–] pyre 29 points 6 months ago

the fact that he was even considered... they just want to go back to being peasants and worshipping royalty

[–] ATDA 19 points 6 months ago

Yeah once check of the Internet would probably have me thinking, "a quieter life letting Daddy pay my through college seems like a better choice."

I don’t know, I keep seeing Christopher Walken when I see these pictures of the kid.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 6 months ago

I see Patrick Bateman

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Aww, I was looking forward to being mean about him.

I had left the thread before this sank in, and had to come back in to upvote. I agree, he is off limits again.
