He's making a pun, you twits (affectionate usage of the word)

Gen A

I'm not a smart man JENN-AY but I know what love iz

Oh fuck. Thank you for explaining the joke. I for real didn't get it. LoL

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think OP's joke is that Gump pronounced Jemny as "gen aaaay" or Gen-A. Unfortunately the generation is named Gen Alpha not Gen-A.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

That's an alpha move I'd say

I’m not a smart man.

My dumb brain was thinking. “Why is Gen A important? Does the A stand for AIDS?”

Forrest got it.

As Gen X, this is hilarious.

They called us Gen X because they didn’t want to bother understanding what personality we might have as a group.

Then people started counting from there for the next generation’s placeholder names.

Y became millennials Z is zoomer, but I don’t think that’s going to stick. They may stay Z because they are X’s kids. Time will tell.

It’s not like the boomers were ever Generation W.

My point is that it doesn’t really matter. They will be the millennials’ kids and they will get a name.

The W stands for wankers.

It's interesting how labels for generations are made both to understand them but also to avoid having to understand them and paint with broad strokes.

Parents can also have one child near the end of one generation and another at the beginning of the next one

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's already been named. It's Generation Alpha.

I think Gen A and me will be like peas and carrots.

[–] iviattendurefort 7 points 1 year ago

I thought we were call point it Gen Alpha

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago

Yeah Alphas are going to be confused with alpha males, a juxtaposition I would not inflict on anyone.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago
