I’m surprised it doesn’t have a TikTok logo watermark. Looks really strange.
And can’t they fit at least one Family Guy episode in the empty space down at the bottom?

Good content is expensive. And from what I understand, the financials are all fucked up across the industry.
Just look at Netflix, they just blew $320 million on a huge piece of garbage, The Electric State.
If they licensed a bigger catalog, that might improve things. But it really is sort of an HBO model, in an era when people are more inclined to cancel or subscription hop.
HBO never had a huge number of new broadly appealing tv shows either. Always a few tentpole shows. But historically, people just stayed subscribed. And it was just how things worked.
It seems to me that Apple needs to stick it out and keep building a high quality library. Along with sorting out discovery/interface issues.
Isn’t ghost more of a Wordpress alternative? And calling it a substack alternative is trendy.
I don’t think piracy is a proper alternative to paying for commercial content.
Free content is.
So it shouldn’t be on this chart IMO. It’s a separate topic. It’s not a good look to lump piracy in with open/free software ideology.
It’s amazing how they basically perfected something, and then just dropped it in the trash.
I know it’s easy to explain that they basically sold them to everyone who wanted one. But it really feels like a device that/situation that a company like Google could maintain as a good will thing. As a standard. As a protocol.
What do you think about the bicameral mind theory?
I wasn’t accusing you of any of this.
Just reflecting on how Lemmy is not participating in the AI hype.
Yeah, I’m mostly talking about how r/singularity changed. And “let’s break society” accelerationist people.
It is interesting how Reddit has a sub (multiple subs?) with people frothing at the mouth about AI advancements, but Lemmy does not seem to.
Too much yelling and screaming in some of these.
I’m glad modern stuff seems to yell and scream less.
People bitching about this as if USB-C was forbidden to ever change.
That said, I don’t like how much heat wireless charging causes.
