A nerdy deep dive on the recent release.

The fact the AI upscale removed diegetic dust and artistic faux grain surprised me. That’s an undeniable mistake/error, IMO.

He also demos audio pitch issues.

Oh no. More sky pollution.

Yeah, run 20 random poorly optimized things like this and you got 100%.

I’m pretty smart myself, and I’m treated the same way. 😏

Exactly. Good ol Bernie.

Believe me. I know.

I’ve been around VRChat since 2016, know many current and former devs. I’ve discussed this sort of thing over and over during the past 8 years.

I’ve also been in high fidelity where they successfully ran events with hundreds of people.

I was at this event, and the crowd feel was amazing. But it took a very expensive array of servers to pull it off. VRChat is peer to peer. High Fidelity was server based and used a set of discrete servers to host the different aspects of the platform. Player location/pose, voice mixing, etc. Each aspect had their own server processing and compressing and streaming the data to each user. I forget how many there were total.

I’m not asking for 1000 people. I’m yearning for something around 333 people.

Edit: oh, and I’m also aware of there being private tests where they achieved ~200 people, stable, in a single instance in VRChat. I forget the exact count. I think it’s still under High Fidelity’s record.

I think you might enjoy how Bernie reacts to being asked about the New Jersey drones:

(Time stamped, it was the second to last question)

There is absolutely nothing going on, huh?

That’s a strong take. Wow. I don’t agree with that. I agree there is at least 50% hysteria going on, but 100%? I don’t think so.

This has been going on for a month or so. The sightings didn’t start when the CEO was shot.

And the coverage isn’t that heavy. Many of the rabid ufo people think it’s covered too little.

Once you talk about orbs, you sound crazy because there is no proof these are orbs.

There are a whole bunch of videos showing out of focus points of light that idiots call orbs. And there are lots of videos of planes flying head on towards the camera with landing lights that idiots also call orbs.

You really gotta be careful how you talk about this stuff, else you sound and look like a fool.

I’m one of those people who thinks the phenomenon is real. But I also feel the majority of the recordings made are nonsense misidentifications.

Just call them UAP.

So, all the governors and congress people are getting kickbacks from the tiktokers?

I know many of them, like Tim Burchett, are just ranting for their crazy base and see this as an opportunity to talk shit about the Biden admin. But you said it’s all about getting paid by covering the hysteria.

I’ve watched blind people use iPhones just fine before when I participated in User Testing of some web software.

It’s amazing what the accessibility functionality on iOS does.

Funny games disproportionally appear on the Mac? Data inconclusive, but vibes say yes.

(Shutting up?)

YouTube started showing likes instead of views in my main feed today. Can’t say I like it.

Why VR Specs don't work! (www.youtube.com)

How VR Specs are only vague indicators of what your VR experience will be with a given VR headset.
