I kept Apple TV for a long time, but I finally had to cancel it because there were only like 2 or 3 really good shows on there and when their seasons ended I felt like I was just paying for nothing.

Also Apple TV+ at the time had the worst interface of any of the streaming services that seemed almost like they made it difficult to find things on purpose so you would just pick things they suggested

If they licensed a bigger catalog, that might improve things. But it really is sort of an HBO model, in an era when people are more inclined to cancel or subscription hop.

HBO never had a huge number of new broadly appealing tv shows either. Always a few tentpole shows. But historically, people just stayed subscribed. And it was just how things worked.

It seems to me that Apple needs to stick it out and keep building a high quality library. Along with sorting out discovery/interface issues.

Exactly! The library of shows was really what killed it for me. On HBO once I've watched all the new shows I like they have tons of old shows I still want to watch. On Apple TV once the new shows were done it felt like there was almost no reason to go on there again.
