For Lemmy just replace racism with unsolicited Linux advice

[–] [email protected] 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

And cartoonishly aggressive Marxist Leninism.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It almost feels like it's meant to be slapstick humour.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

What am I going to do with all of these ACME guillotines I imported from France, then?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago

Well, bought and paid for, may as well use em! Just because the .ml and hexbear folk are near clownish in their frothing evangelism, doesn't mean they're wrong about everything....

[–] Rooty 4 points 6 days ago

Man I love Flatpaks.

I’d rather have the unsolicited linux advice tbh

but anyways that’s not super relevant because there very much is still racism on lemmy…

[–] MutilationWave 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah but I see a racist comment like once a week. You don't have to spend long on Twitter to find that shit.

No but I'd like to. I'd unironically join a supportive Linux noob community. One where we can also complain without fear of reprisals

I get what you are saying, but you should try Chimera Linux.

basically me, but there opposite when Musky Husky took over:

"Urgh. Racism in my porn app?"

[–] finder585 46 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I love that over on Reddit most of the content is still coming from Xitter. The only change is that they aren't posting direct links crediting the person who made it.

What a half-ass way to boycott a site.

[–] LinuxEnjoyer 19 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (2 children)

Well, from what I've seen, they're really bad at boycotting things. They couldn't even handle "reddit blackout" in 2023 and most of redditors came back after a day.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 6 days ago

Some of us are still here since they black out. I haven’t posted or commented on there since.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago

That's because it happens frequently, so people who are good at boycotting things leave gradually.

The only problem I have with x alternatives currently (both Bluesky and Mastodon) is that my favourite r34 artists havent really switched plattforms :(

[–] [email protected] 42 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Btw, Rule34-xxx is superior.

[–] Shardikprime 8 points 6 days ago

In levels of racism, misogyny, prejudice, X is on the same level as 9Gag

[–] WereCat 2 points 6 days ago

No it's not. 9GAG is untouchable in this aspect.

[–] Sonor 17 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Gosh, 9gag was so cool, like, 15 years ago :(

[–] [email protected] 12 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (2 children)

kinda funny, early Redditors like me used to think 9gag was never good lol, kinda like ifunny, so this is kinda like that Legolas gimli meme where it's like "never thought I'd join a 9gagger to fight for fediverse/anti corporate media" ya know?

[–] Sonor 2 points 6 days ago

Well, this was back in the ragecomics era, when it was literally 9 memes per tab. When they switched to infinite scrolling was when i was like “hmm, what is this reddit thing i keep hearing about”

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Zoomer content

They’re the people that follow internet celebrities and drama so that’s what the content is geared for

One was surprised I didn’t know random YouTuber just because they’ve been big “forever”

[–] [email protected] 3 points 5 days ago

Up to this day, I've never watched a pewdiepie video. I have no idea what he does/did. Same goes for Mr beast. I mean, I've heard the names, but I'm not intrigued whatsoever.

I never understood people posting porn to microblogging sites. What's the point of this? There are literally millions of other places to get porn already, it's like what the Internet was invented for.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

There was a vibe to it before tumblr banned all the porn. Lots of actual real stuff that was made just because people wanted to without any intention to monetize. Just people having fun. But I’m not sure that exists anymore. I don’t think it was really efficient or anything but I guess if you’re just casually posting some anonymous nudes and share them with a bunch of people it would feel weird to upload that on pornhub.

Ant platform where you can share images will inevitably be used for porn

[–] merari42 22 points 1 week ago (7 children)

The entomologists will not be happy about their ant plantform being used for porn

It's usually there so people seek out the only fans / subscription content. Additionally for general exposure (ha!), likes and followers.

But how else will you hear about all the little details of their daily lives on a regular porn site? The parasocial connections to your favorite porn stars aren't gonna form all by themselves!
