I think there’s a good chance that a lot of the knowledge we have today could be lost entirely if civilization collapses to a certain degree just due to how we store it.

We do have some backups.

I got amazon prime mostly for the free games, it's pretty much a steal in my country (if you pay for one year it's about $1 a month) and I still have to pirate things that are available in the prime video. Why? Because I use Linux and amazon won't allow me to play videos in 1080p. Only 480p is available.

Valve should use it's position on the market for something good and straight up not allow single player games to use external launchers. I'm buying the game on Steam so I just want to play, not make yet another 3rd party account and then pray the 3rd party launcher will work fine on Linux.

I've been replaying Skyrim since I got the Special Edition on sale few days ago. The loading screen goes away so fast that I can't enjoy any tips on information that it shows. The technology has come a long way.

Why not just Debian? Unless you need very up-to-date software, it will work fine. You can throw XFCE if you're on an old hardware. I put Debian on my 2017 laptop and I usually have about 30 days of uptime before rebooting (just for a bit of "computer hygiene" since it could probably just run forever without issues if I didn't reboot).
