Have you scheduled your colonoscopy yet?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I did it for energy. And i have to say, it works.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

No anesthesia??

[–] ch00f 16 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The only audio cassette I ever owned was the Free Willy soundtrack.

Also props to Keiko, the most dedicated method actor of all time. To prepare for his role as a captive orca in harsh living conditions, he actually became a captive orca in terrible living conditions.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Ok. well, my method during preparation and production is immersion. I try to just immerse myself in the role, and in this case, watching movies, documentaries reading books. just anything that has to do with cops. Particularly LAPD, the history of the LAPD. As well as ride-alongs with cops... just getting into the back-story and the psyche of DAVE BROWN.

So to jump in there is exciting and scary, and also you just feel completely safe and protected…Oren, he just won't let you fail, and me personally, I tried to fail several times.

I mean its inevitable..with the freedom Oren does give you sometimes you're gonna go in the wrong direction and he's gonna steer you back.

How are your back and knees holding up?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Well I usually wouldn't say fun...intense, challenging, engaging, yeah.

[–] shalafi 0 points 4 days ago

Not OP, but doing well enough as I was never fat.

How does it compare to Rampart?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

The character in Rampart was the most difficult. I have a hard time seeing myself as a cop, being slightly anti-authoritarian, so I really had to immerses myself in that mentality. It was a challenge, but it was one I was psyched to meet. Especiallly working with Oren Moverman

Thank you, I get it now.

In my free time I'm mainly with my family. that's a pretty strong bond.

[–] lath 4 points 4 days ago

Even family can be a kind of freedom and loneliness a desolate prison. Mutual appreciation is what matters. Enjoy yours

[–] aeronmelon 4 points 4 days ago

Michael Jackson held him by the river Jordon.

Thanks for the great questions. It's a really busy day and I'm going to try to come back...but no guarantees.

First of off, its not true, and second off, I don't want to answer questions about that. Lets focus on the film people.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I did too, ask me nothing.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

I did it for energy. And i have to say, it works.

Do you have term life insurance yet? Alex Trebek says its great

[–] simplejack 2 points 4 days ago

Given where he’s currently at in life, the real endorsement should probably come from his family.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

I know Oren Moverman did an interview here. I did just learn about it, so I'm trying.

[–] RedEyeFlightControl 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

What are your thoughts and feelings about whalers on the moon

[–] SidewaysHighways 1 points 3 days ago

Berlers and terlets

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

well there was a lot of …the great thing about working with Oren is ...he gives you an incredible playground. And all the tools... great direction, wonderful words to say…and inside of that he says "go play."

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What do you consider about the irony of an 'actor whale' playing 'free willy '

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Can I say free willy? It really took over my life for a while. I wouldn't say irony is the operative word.

well there was a lot of …the great thing about working with Oren is ...he gives you an incredible playground. And all the tools... great direction, wonderful words to say…and inside of that he says "go play."

Working with oren... he's adaptable…if he finds this is working, he commands you, tells you to keep going, he's always pushing the outer limits.

As for the other roles, well if they don't specifically come up in conversation, I don't give them much thought!

[–] JackLSauce 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I watched this movie repeatedly as a kid on VHS. What was it about?

Follow-up question: same thing but for The Sound of Music

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

Yeah ...all of them?

With films with Oren specifically, you don't do any rehearsal ahead of time. you aren't blocked out, you don't do blocking…you know…we try to come into the scene prepared and hope the other actors are prepared, and in this case they always were. Especially Brie, who initially that part was much smaller, just by virtue of her…the power of her personality, and her abilities she made that part a lot richer.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Tell us about the movie experience? Who were you with?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

As I said, with my family, it's a strong bond. So that helps. But I relate to a character and his love of his family. For example -- I have 3 daughters, Dave Brown has 2. That pain he was feeling when things are not going well. That..that I can really sink my teeth into that. Sink my emotionality there.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Did you ever dream that your bed's pillows were filled with pancakes and you were waterboarded by the CIA using copious amounts of maple syrup?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

You know, I don't really think about those things, once the opportunity passes, I really let go of it.

[–] callcc 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

One of my first movies and I'll never forget that adventure. I have no question though.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

very kind thing to say.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago (2 children)
[–] Norin 3 points 4 days ago

I saw it in theaters and, yeah, I couldn’t tell you a single thing about this movie if my life depended on it.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

I will tell you, it can really take over your life for a while.

What was it like watching a movie with Paul Reubens?
