He wasn't wrong, it was a great video

[–] [email protected] 62 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It would be if it wasn't in 144p with the most obnoxious watermark I've ever seen.

instagram

Ok, 144p with an obnoxious watermark was enough suffering for me.

I could've see that a mile off, and started running for my fucking life

He was pretty far off and up on a ridge. I also would underestimate nature and believe I was orderly safe

[–] Frozengyro 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

I remember when he posted this. He figured it would come up to him, but also knew if that was the case, there was nothing he could do anyway. He is right, really nowhere better he could have gotten in 40 seconds.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

For those of us who don't, do you have a reference to this?

[–] Frozengyro 7 points 3 days ago (2 children)

I can't find the post, but here's a news article.

Assuming “orderly” was supposed to be “already,” what caused that mistake? Just curious. Speech to text? Because it seems like more of a verbal mistake than an autocorrect one, but imagining someone doing speech-to-text for lemmy comments seems unlikely. Unless maybe it’s for accessibility reasons?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

'overly' seems like the likely autocorrect fuck up to me

[–] AA5B 2 points 3 days ago

Regular autocorrect.

It was intended to be “prudently”. Autocorrect seems to put too much weight on the first character, so if I fat-fingered ‘o’ instead of ‘p’ it tries to find an ‘o’ word that fits rather than the closest word that fits

I dunno, given he had a spot behind a rock that at least gives him a chance to dig himself out once shit calms down. Not saying it's a good chance, but if he tried to run he'd just get thrown into a rock then buried.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

In his Instagram post, he says the only injured member of his party was the one who tried to run and subsequently fell when hit by the avalanche.

[–] KnightontheSun 6 points 3 days ago

Yes, but I like his video better.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

This is cut short and lower quality than the original a few years ago.

[–] PmMeFrogMemes 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

lower quality but not cut short

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

Sure is. The original starts with the hikers and then they hear aaslanche there appearing around the edge. Guess your "original" was already cut short, it goes a while before the avalanche grows big.

Died in a tragic bowling accident involving a penguin and two moose, never should have happened.

[–] stupidcasey 13 points 3 days ago

That's kinda what I expected but who won the game?

[–] radicalautonomy 8 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

two moose

*moosen (FTFY)

Note: Though they are solitary animals, it is generally accepted that a group of at least 10 would constitute a flock of moosen.

[–] daggermoon 4 points 3 days ago
