Potential consequences for rape is all it takes for someone to entirely give up on convictions.

  • One woman alleges that Brand raped her against a wall in his Los Angeles home. She was treated at a rape crisis centre on the same day. The Times says it has seen medical records to support this
  • A second woman alleges that Brand assaulted her when he was in his early 30s and she was 16 and still at school. She alleges he referred to her as "the child" during an emotionally abusive and controlling relationship
  • A third woman claims that Brand sexually assaulted her while she worked with him in Los Angeles, and that he threatened to take legal action if she told anyone else about her allegation
  • The fourth woman alleged being sexually assaulted by Brand and him being physically and emotionally abusive towards her

I didn't know any of the specifics of the allegations against Brand, but I remember when he did the crazy Jesus pivot I thought "it has to be something to do with kids." No scumbag flips that abruptly unless they've done something really bad.

Those are all perks in team trump

Human piece of shit that will go wherever praise can be gotten.

Somebody really fucked this guy up.

I liked him in Forgetting Sarah Marshall where he played an unaware, easily hatable obnoxious prick. I felt like he really melted into that roll

I liked him in Get Him to The Greek where he played an unaware, easily hatable obnoxious prick.

He melted into that roll like a pad of butter.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 hours ago

That’s offensive to both butter and bread rolls

YOU SOUND LIKE YOU'RE FROM LONDON

[–] just_another_person 4 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

Not wrong at all. It's like the only thing he's known for.

Mar-a-lago, the new Epstein Island.

[–] disguy_ovahea 12 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

God did. Brand converted to Christianity earlier this year and immediately began making propaganda videos promoting his new world views.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 13 hours ago

Hmmm mar-a-lago (Trump/maga), steaks(maga), Christianity(maga)... Me thinks it's all connected somehow and none of it is genuine.

Don't blame someone else. He sexually assaulted women, he fucked himself up.

Omfg allegedly 🤮

I wonder if Brand had been accused of rape by other men if that would have made the difference. If Trump was accused of raping a male Wall Street banker instead of E. Jean Carroll, would that have smothered his candidacy in its crib? I honestly think it would have. Which is a sad thing to believe.

[–] [email protected] 46 points 15 hours ago

Biggest sellout in history. I'm just glad I saw the writing on the wall long in advance when he would talk all the time about "community" but literally never engaged with it at all (the only time he even addressed commenters was when their comments were literally printed on paper and handed to him).

This man is the definition of a charlatan

[–] MushuChupacabra 23 points 14 hours ago

To be fair, he hasn't wavered much on being rape-y.

[–] Feathercrown 15 points 14 hours ago

It's funny how everyone who enters Trump's sphere abandons all previous principles. It's almost like he's surrounded himself with spineless rubes looking to get a position of power while agreeing to everything that he says.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 15 hours ago

I have a bunch of friends who enjoy watching his content because he does highlight some honest questions about serious topics.

I have to keep reminding them ..... he's an entertainer and a celebrity ... he's not a journalist, researcher or trained academic

He will spit out whatever sounds right and say it loud enough, often enough, then slap a thumbnail of his surprised face on the video promo and people will watch it without any critical thought.

No matter how good someone may sound .... if you can't trust them, nothing they say is of any worth.

This guy has always seemed like an asshole to me.

[–] FlowVoid 12 points 15 hours ago

So on Brand

[–] Ledivin 10 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Russell Brand is a grifter?!? Whaaaat? How could he have changed so radically?!?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 hours ago

It started during COVID I think

[–] [email protected] 4 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

i think it's fun to refer to him as a "christian rock star". you know, because he's a christian with a rock and roll album.

[–] Madison420 -2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

That's an insult to Christian artists who btw can be quite good. Josh garrels is technically Jesus music but goddamn dude for a voice.

[–] Sestren 4 points 10 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Madison420 1 points 7 hours ago

No one defended Christianity, what I'm saying is their faith doesn't make their music lesser because of the whole bigotry thing. Right?
