I'll take your word for it. I've never really understood the whole idea of boxing being entertaining in the first place.
Skilled athletes are entertaining to watch. Guys that know how fight and do it well, at least. It can be a highly technical, highly skilled competition. Some people are just there to watch two adults beat the piss out of each other. Which, to be fair, is how the sport started.
Fuck this year is disappointing.
The main event really undercut the earlier fights.
Serrano vs Taylor was fucking amazing. Despite Taylor’s dirty moves, she couldn’t keep Serrano at bay for a single second. I can’t believe the judges robbed her of the win.
Serrano has earned my respect. I'm not a regular fan of the sport and this is the first time I've watched a fight in over 20 years. How she didn't get the W is beyond me. Her trainer was dropping bombs in the post match interview though, I wouldn't fuck with that dude.
I thought it was cute all the people saying Mike was going to murder him. As a 45 year old boxer I am pretty exhausted after 3 minutes. 5 rounds later and I'm ready for a nice cup of tea in an armchair sitting by the window. Time catches up to us all.
Mike though? How is there any universe where this wasn't scripted
In this universe he is nearly 60 and his opponent was in his 20s. Don't get me wrong, I still wouldn't fight Tyson because I'm 40 and in, at best, mediocre shape but we can acknowledge that he is well past his prime.
No shit, all these social media showmatches are just grifts. Anyone who thinks they are real fights are loopy.
Wish he'd fight young competitive boxers now. It's wild how much time catches up to a human.
I actually saw this fight. I knew they'd rig it for Jake Paul just for the headline.... but I was hoping they'd be less obvious about it.
Mike Tyson basically just stood there doing nothing while Jake Paul tried to hug him, and while doing this "hug it out" routine wore himself out in the process...... Dude looked like he was melting into a puddle of sweat while Mike Tyson just kinda no-sold the farce.

I'm honestly surprised anyone thought it wouldn't go this way.
Anyone who knows how big of a piece of shit Jake Paul is knew this was going to happen.
Jake Paul is a piece of shit and so is his brother Logan.
I'm glad no one got hurt. The other fights on the card were better. Main event was boring and predictable. Tyson was slow and off balance. Paul threw and landed 2x the punches Tyson did. Not a match that would convince a non fan that there is something more to the sport than punching.
I learned it involves a lot of homoerotic hugging as well
