My cat will not poop unless someone is watching him, and he had to poop at 5 this morning.

this happens to me all the time, I'll fall asleep at like 2am, wake up at 6, unable to fall back asleep and then I accidentally sleep away the entire day from like noon to 7pm. I've tried everything even just staying up for days to reset the cycle and nothing works.

This is not medical advice, but https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Promethazine Helped reset my Mum's sleep cycle.

Very low dose to start ~5mg, you must have uninterrupted 8 hours to sleep and take at least 1hour before bed. If you have too high a dose or too little sleep you will feel exhausted all day.

Easily solved:

Make a PLAN to sleep from noon to seven. Prepare something for a ready dinner, put on jammies, (pee first) get in bed, set the alarm. This is your gift to you. You won't be disoriented because you planned it. Get up, have dinner, enjoy your evening and go back to bed at your usual time.

It does get harder as you grow older. That’s why I try to avoid sleeping late now because no matter what I do, I still wake up at the same time every morning.

Right, it's a blessing and a curse. I certainly get a lot more done in my general life since I started becoming like this as I get older, but catching up on borrowed sleep has become much more difficult.

My everyday existence with a 2 year old...

That's not YOUR body that woke you up.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

How not? I imagine they paid for their two year old fair and square, like everyone else.

Mine is 5 months. I was really hoping that by 2 it would get a little easier...

The killer for me is that she'll get me up for 5 mins in the night, but it'll take me an hour to get back to sleep each time.

Every kid is different, so maybe you'll get lucky by that age. Definitely invest the time to do sleep training, which should be around the corner for you guys. We've been dealing with night terrors lately, so a lot of sudden wake ups in the middle of the night and confusion/freaking out. Takes a bit longer to get her back down after that type of episode.

Dumb things is, I wake up earlier on my days off, instead of sleeping in.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 months ago

Me when I'm tired after work and finally give up trying to do something useful to take a nap instead and then my brain is like"well now I'm not doing it".

Thats what weeds for! wake up, rip a cone and go back to sleep.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

extra time means time for an extra morning pint

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

Unfortunately that is how the human body works. Our sleep/wake cycle can only naturally drift by about an hour a day. It isn't entirely dependent on how you feel.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Leaving annoying errands until Sunday, not setting an alarm Saturday night then constantly waking up thinking I’ve overslept

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

[–] Sam_Bass 1 points 2 months ago

or doesnt let you sleep to begin with
