This is an awful, awful move by the Biden campaign. He can only lose. Giving Trump legitimacy is a huge mistake. He's a fucking traitor and the president of the United States should not be debating him.

Nevermind the fact that Trump doesn't really debate he just spews diarrhea.

[–] ChowJeeBai 10 points 6 days ago (1 children)

So we take a shot everytime trump blurts a unverified anecdote starting with 'many experts say', 'most people agree', 'disaster', 'make america great again', 'ronald Reagan's, 'abe lincoln' and so forth?

Lightweight. If you can't handle 187 shots, you're not a real American.

Does Biden have to stay to listen to dumps final word?

Leave the orange turd fuming at an empty podium.

Good luck shutting up Donald even with mute. He just spews verbal diarrhea uncued.

This whole debate seems like such a mistake/gamble on both sides. The press is going to run wild with any “senility-looking” blunders either candidate makes. I dunno why either party agreed to a debate. We are already very familiar with both candidates.

If you watched the first one you'd know why.

I'm watching just to see Biden tell trump to shut the fuck up again.

Trump got his ass kicked.

I lived in a very rural area back then, I know a friend whose family was all watching that debate together in their living room, all hard-core Trump supporters of course. That debate literally made them so sad they turned off the TV mid debate, it broke my friend free from being a MAGA diehard.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Biden campaign saw something like that reflected in polling, even marginally, and is trying to recreate it.

He's gonna have it kicked so hard he'll have it handed to him in a shoebox this time.

Dark Brandon got got partially released in the SoTU. He's gonna unleash the Jewish Lasers in this one.

The mute button is long overdue. I wonder how they'll fail to use it.

[–] Burn_The_Right 13 points 6 days ago

They'll probably just delay pressing it until it's too late. Hey! Maybe they can get Merrick Garland to be in charge of the button!

[–] worldwidewave 16 points 1 week ago

Trump will continue talking, it’ll be interesting to see if Biden’s mic picks it up, or if it’s still distracting to Biden (despite being inaudible to us).

[–] Potatos_are_not_friends 11 points 1 week ago

Can't imagine it being the other way.

Journalist: "How will you fight rising property crime?"

Trump: (incoherent rambling that ends with how sexy Ivanka is)

By the time Biden starts talking, we'd be stunned by whatever the hell Trump was saying to focus.

Feels like a blunder. Westerners/ Americans generally look left to right (because of the way we read). They also lost the closing statement. The headline seems stupid at first, but I think this is a blunder by the Biden campaign. It's a small one, but this is going to be a close election. Every decision matters.

[–] justaderp 37 points 1 week ago (4 children)

The entire Biden campaign is "not Trump". The most powerful closing statement Biden can make is to let Trump spout gibberish until getting abruptly cut off by the shot caller in the video booth.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

This is a talking point pushed by conservatives trying to hollow out the progressive vote.

I personally don't "like" Biden very much. It's also true that he's very old and not very appealing compared to a younger candidate.

That said, he's been an effective, progressive president.

It's correct to say that one of Biden's selling points is that he is "not Trump", because Trump is repugnant, but even against a more palatable opponent, Biden would still have virtues.

[–] justaderp -3 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

I don't like Biden, Democrats, or Republicans, because they've consistently represented their corporate constituency.

I personally

Political representation isn't a popularity contest.

That said, he's been an effective, progressive president.

Yes, when compared to diarrhea he's a God.

Get out of the echo chamber and begin thinking for yourself. Others will gladly help once you find humility.

2024: "Not Trump"

2020: "Not Trump"

2016: "Not Trump"

God I'm tired of it. I know its the better option, lesser of two evils, I'm going to vote for Biden if I live to November, but we act shocked when we get evil when we vote for lesser evil.

[–] ASeriesOfPoorChoices 42 points 1 week ago

he's really not as bad as the whiners make him out to be. He's not Bernie Sanders, sure, but few are.

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I keep seeing posts like this, about how bad Biden is. What has Biden done that is so bad? I mean, I don't wake up to some batshit crazy bullshit that the president did every single day like it was with the guy that has 34 felonies. I feel he's been a great president, he sure had his hands full fixing shit from the previous president*, and has to deal with the bullshit from people like that jewis space lasers dipshit and the handy in the theater trash.

vote for anyone who will verifiably support ranked choice or instant run-off voting. not an absolute cure, but one of our most powerful weapons moving forward.

[–] Dkarma -3 points 1 week ago

Lol tell.me you don't have a clue without telling me you don't have a clue.

[–] [email protected] -5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think they did this to play against the left vs the right.

Biden doesn't care about progressives, if they are against trump then those votes are already secured.

He is right wing and wants to appear more representable to conservatives to get their votes.

Its pure token symbolism but i bet it does have a noticeable effect in how the candidates are perceived.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 days ago

this same dynamic would apply to any political debate ever.
