I'm getting y'all collared, because none of you is going to take charge otherwise. Come on, we're going for walkies.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

What about advanced dickheads?

If you get the Hitler comment enough, maybe look at yourself instead. I only see it popping up when someone is leaning faschist, which is very often

[-] [email protected] 54 points 1 month ago

That. It's funny, but I get in a lot of disagreements online, and very rarely does someone call me Hitler or a Nazi or what not.

As the saying goes, if five people call you an ass, buy a saddle.

Literally the only time it's happened to me is on here (or MAGA, rather) from liberals pretending to be leftists because they don't know what words mean and think criticizing Biden is supporting Trump.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

In a bipartisan system it is

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Yeah, I only get called a socialist or far left lol.

[-] Harbinger01173430 3 points 1 month ago

If someone calls you Hitler, call them Mao, Stalin or Netanyahu or one of the other ancient people.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

That sounds like something Hitler would say. Well, maybe not, but I bet you're a vegetarian. Like Hitler. Or have a dog. Like Hitler. Or are dead. Like Hitler.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Right? Plenty of people don't like me and I've never been called Hitler/fascist.

[-] [email protected] 39 points 1 month ago

Alternatively, everything I don't like is communism

[-] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Or socialism. Or religion.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Say what you will about internet atheists, I don't think they go around saying everything is religion. They usually just, you know, criticize religion.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I guess what they do is the opposite. They say "religion" when they're really just taking about Christianity.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Seems like a selection bias issue tbh

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

or here on lemmy, tankie

[-] [email protected] 27 points 1 month ago

I've only heard right wingers cry about this

This used to hold broad cultural applicability, back in the Before Times when the "Hitler Did Nothing Wrong" crowd was still excluded from the political mainstream. Norms excluding out-and-proud ethnofascists from official, public participation in the English-speaking political right started to seriously slip around the time of Obama's election and certainly ceased to exist after Trump's win in 2016, but prior to that time "Nazi" was very much more often an ad-hominem attack than an accurate description of somebody's politics.

This is some real "the right can't meme" type shit... why is it getting upvotes on blahaj.zone?

[-] YarHarSuperstar 4 points 1 month ago

I am wondering the same thing. What's happening to my dear 196?

[-] Viking_Hippie 16 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I just want to know how awful ettyblatant's take was that they tried 3 times and deleted them all before just giving up 😄

This. I experienced Redditors calling me “Nazi”, after I posted a pic to Reddit’s “bald”. They failed to realize that Hitler never shaved his head; he shaved the heads of his prisoners. I tried explaining this to people, and reassured them that my grandparents served on the side of the Allies, during WW2. I still have people who have stalked my profile all the way to Lemmy, perhaps even doxing me, to continue their harassment. I’m not even German, or male, and I get bombarded with commenters accusing me of being a male “Nazi”. Not even “neo-Nazi”. They keep specifically referencing Germany and WW2, and like I said, I’m not even German by dna.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

And then when you call out an actual Nazi it won't mean shit

[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Hold up... If you are someone who likes Hitler, what do you call someone whom you disagree with? 🤔

[-] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago
[-] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Today is actually Hitler's birthday. That is all

One of the two major political parties in the US definitely has big and loud fascist tendencies, expressed explicitly and often, in both words and actions. And they are proud of it. If anyone cut off any possibility of dialogue, slapped away an outstretched hand over and over again, will try and muddy any and all arguments in bad faith, it's that political party and its' voters/supporters.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Apparently Hitler is going down the gay rainbow

[-] ummthatguy -5 points 1 month ago

[so much sarcasm]

Considering current (2016 + era) sentiment, may want to change that to those Antifa brigands.

back to the true true...
