The thumbnail made me think that Russia was announcing that they now have Dr Manhattan

[–] paddirn 26 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Dr. Moscow, the superman exists and he’s Russian.

It's good. In fact, it's the only good think Millar has ever worked on.

"A live body and a dead body contain the same number of particles. Structurally, there's no discernible difference. Life and death are unquantifiable abstracts. Why should I be concerned?"

- Vladimir Putin, probably

It’s because the vaccine was revealed to him in a dream.

It’s so sad Putin died of Ligma

[–] DarylDutch 70 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Technically, the amount of russians dying from cancer has gone down. This of course goes hand in hand with a rise in acute lead poisoning in Ukraine.

[–] FlyingSquid 9 points 10 months ago

Death is definitely one way to cure someone's cancer.

[–] schema 63 points 10 months ago

Maybe the rumors about Putin having cancer are true, and this is what the scientists told him to not accidentally fall out of a window.

[–] Starkstruck 25 points 10 months ago

The vaccine just kills you, can't have cancer if you're dead! /s

Is it as good as your Covid vaccine?

[–] HootinNHollerin 5 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Wonder if it’s also called sputnik

[–] TheGiantKorean 18 points 10 months ago (1 children)

They need a falling-out-of-the-window vaccine.

[–] werefreeatlast 4 points 10 months ago

Quick! I need the falling from a buildin....splat!

I wrote splat! LOL, it's a really tall building 🏢.

[–] TIMMAY 17 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Imagine if this was true lmao russia just cures all cancers. Honestly the world has been so bass ackwards lately that it almost makes a non-sense kind of sense

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago

Since I only need “Cow wins Nobel Prize” for a bingo on this card I would be so pissed if this is true.

They've ~~discovered~~ stolen HPV vaccines? Good on them!

[–] [email protected] 10 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

They developed what might be the first cancer vaccine. USA government source.

I know you're being sarcastic, but vaccines against cancer-causing oncoviruses are not what's usually meant by "cancer vaccines" (though some people will sometimes use the phrase "cancer vaccines" to include that).

Cancer vaccines are more typically things like Imlygic which sets the immune system against melanoma.

[–] Saeveo 7 points 10 months ago

They developed what might be the first cancer vaccine

If by "they" you mean Russia, that's not what your source says. It's a press release about Agenus (a US company) licensing their vaccine for production and sale in Russia.

they have entered into a license, development and manufacturing technology transfer agreement for Agenus' Oncophage® (HSPPC-96; vitespen) vaccine

[–] [email protected] 10 points 10 months ago

Such a shame they don't have a "dying in a pointless war" vaccine.

[–] eran_morad 10 points 10 months ago

Cool story blyat

[–] HootinNHollerin 10 points 10 months ago

Sends cancer straight to gulag

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago

Exciting field for the next few years: we'll probably see a bunch of new cancer vaccines coming out.

Funny how the covid epidemic spurred our understanding of immunology and vaccines.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago

“Cancer diagnoses decrease rapidly for russian men who run 500m without cover”

[–] corstian 6 points 10 months ago

Wait wasn't this the premise of FarCry 6?
