This has great Omega Mart vibes

They have tattoo chicken. This is turkey. Totally different. /s

On another note, I’ve been a couple of times and it’s great. I highly recommend it to anyone going to Vegas.

(Or Santa Fe, Denver or Dallas - all the Meow Wolf sites are amazing)

[–] Sweetpeaches69 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes. Especially the original in Santa Fe. Everyone I've met from outside of New Mexico thinks Denver started Meow Wolf, which is sad.

[–] ericisshort 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Interesting. Everyone I know that is aware of Meow Wold is outside of New Mexico, and we all know of its Santa Fe roots.

[–] Sweetpeaches69 2 points 1 year ago

Oh, that's great!

Where is this in Vegas? I've probably been about a dozen times and never heard of it.

Edit: Ah, Area15. I've seen it from the freeway a ton but have never explored it.

I would absolutely recommend it! Be sure to dedicate a decent amount of time to it and bring a friend who loves weird shit. The exhibit has an underlying mystery that is really fun to piece together, but it definitely takes a few hours.

I went and wandered it for probably 5 hours with someone. We managed to get everywhere but couldn’t read everything

Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that‽

Also featuring such delicious foodstuffs like Y2K Millennium Beans and Rumored Associates Cereal (toasted duo of flakes potentially associated with raisins)!

I'm also a fan of the cat towers made entirely of meat.

Such a good time

Thats definitely intentional, considering the Dave Mart logo in the top right uses the same font style as Omega Mart.

Next best thing. Fresh cut apple slices and a nice sharp cheddar.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You more of a tart apple or sweet apple person?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Depends. In this case I would go with a tart apple, granny smith or similar.

[–] ZoopZeZoop 4 points 1 year ago

Agreed. Sweeter apple with something like havarti. Sweet and creamy.

Sign me up.

One kilo of assorted cheese apples, please.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I'll take the mashed potato flavored candles, thanks. I know exactly who gift it to

[–] jimmycrackcrack 18 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I don't get the denial one.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago

Me neither, and if we don’t admit it nobody will ever know.

It’s the perfect crime.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I'm assuming it's an inside jokes between op and their friend.

[–] gsfraley 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] jimmycrackcrack 1 points 1 year ago

That sounds like it's probably it. Don't have that brand here so I'd never have picked that.

[–] dejected_warp_core 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Denial for $2?! Normally, you have to do some serious mental gymnastics to make that at home; it's a lot of work. What a bargain.

Also, I know some people who would absolutely buy potato-scented candles if they were a thing.

[–] hackris 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What sort of denial are we talking about here

[–] dejected_warp_core 1 points 1 year ago

Everything. You'll forget entire months of your life, but you also won't have a single tarnished memory.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago

That's a pretty spot-on job. I used to do ad layout for a local newspaper publisher and that's almost exactly what we'd do.

[–] egeres 10 points 1 year ago

This is one of this pics where the more you look, the weirder it gets haha

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Took me a second but it's plasma.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Plasm is a noun that can mean plasma, germplasm, or a formative material.

Guess it’s both? (Merriam-Webster)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

I wonder if it's a regional thing.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Definitely, often from Vermont or Canada ;)

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm from Canada and have never heard or seen plasm.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Today I realize Canadian are tree vampires.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think it’s a “being unnecessarily technical/obtuse as a joke” thing: plasma, as in “blood plasma” - thus, tree blood plasma ~= maple syrup

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

... yes plasma with an 'a'. Not plasm on the card.
