Today, I saw real snow in my hometown for the first time ever. Florida's previous record was 3 inches in 1895. Today, we received about 6-7.5 inches of snow. And - I can't believe it - it's still there right now!

The implications of this are of course kind of terrifying, but seeing everyone so excited and playing outside has been nice. I've watched people introducing their pets to their first snow, making snow angels, playing with makeshift sleds. I've heard people cheering and having fun all through my neighborhood.

People are happy to be off work. Even the Waffle Houses are closed. There are no cars on the road. It's a nice little respite during a particularly horrifying time. I know it's a symptom of something much worse to come, but it's beautiful anyway.

Also, the first class tickets for the train were totally worth it.

Wife's friend let her cut flowers yesterday. Got up from reading and found this, didn't move a thing, no enhancements. I'm actually a little stunned.

Here's my wife's wedding bouquet from a year ago. Scooted the flowers into the beam for that one.

Prisms I'm using. Turns out I bought those on 01/20/24! Been fun watching the light shift around as the sun moves. This time I have all 4 lined up an inch apart, but you can spread 'em around for different effects. I'd get more, but no monies.

We got some good exercise in while it was still warm. She did very well and was wonderfully behaved.

Actually it's Karelian Beardog. People in Finland use this breed in moose hunting. But she injured her nose and owner had no use for her. So she came to us in December -23

The colors are added in, of course, with it being an electron microscope image. Another picture:

She's such a good girl for the most part. She doesn't have the best manners in the barn, but we're working on it lol. She just gets excited and doesn't care if she's going too fast for you to keep up. I can handle her pulling me around a little, but the old man who also works with her can't. So I took on the role of her trainer because nobody aside from me and the old man interact with her. Her attitude and energy scare off people for some reason.

Just a black dog against a white wall begging for a treat.

I don't think this is a great photo, but something about it is soothing, somehow, or just nice, in some way, and I'll share, just to share, if anyone finds anything here, good, if not, also good. He got the treat, that's the main thing.

Since our little swamp "ponds" don't move much, organic oils float up and rainbow when the sun hits at the right angle. BTW, the birds are brozne. :)
