It's difficult to comprehend how anyone can think that Trump can lower the price of anything for anyone in any period of time.

[–] bitchkat 7 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

And he explained to them how he was going to raise prices and taxes for the vast majority.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 13 hours ago

If they could read, I'm sure that would've offended them mightily...

Buy the foreign goods you want now folks.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 13 hours ago

After the election he said himself that he wouldn't be able to!

[–] [email protected] 31 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

So why did they vote for him...

Oh right, they hate women, trans people, and immigrants...

[–] [email protected] 8 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

About forget the ones who were ignorant, stupid, or trying to prove a point only to have it backfire like we all told them it would.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago)

Only that it probably won't backfire much on them, not as much as on everyone else

Some of you might die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 19 hours ago

The only thing the bastard has ever lowered is my hope for democracy.

[–] TomMasz 75 points 1 day ago

Spoiler alert: He won't do anything except enrich himself and his toadies.

[–] shyguyblue 66 points 1 day ago

And here I am, KNOWING he won't lower prices, BECAUSE HE FUCKING SAID HE WASN'T GOING TO, AS SOON AS THE VOTES WERE IN!?¡

[–] [email protected] 47 points 1 day ago

Anyone who thinks he'll do it at all is delusional; he's gotten $200 million in bribes to increase corporate profits, not lower them.

[–] FlyingSquid 38 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And yet millions voted for him claiming it was because he would fix the economy. 🤔

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To be fair, that reason is only what they claimed.

[–] FlyingSquid 16 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Oh I know. Plenty of them it was more about not voting for that n-- bitch. But they knew they could call her that out loud, so they did it in their head and claimed it was about the economy.

[–] chuckleslord -2 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Please denote when you're quoting someone else with quotes. Unless you want to have said "n-- bitch"

[–] FlyingSquid 7 points 22 hours ago

If someone really wants to think that was what I was saying and couldn't figure it out from the context, I honestly do not care.

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

He fixed healthcare in his first term remember? That was when Elon landed humans on Mars.

[–] Xanthobilly 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

My favorite was capping off a huge infrastructure week with getting Mexico to pay for the wall.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago

Truly the day he made America great.

[–] FlyingSquid 6 points 1 day ago

He fixed concepts of healthcare. Right after infrastructure week.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Too bad they didn’t think about it before voting.

Edit: I’d like to add that I will bet groceries for a month that they don’t go down at any point in his term.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 day ago

If anything, he'll print more money than is already the case and fuel inflation.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 day ago (2 children)

ok, but he totally fixed the whole palestine situation /s

[–] [email protected] 3 points 23 hours ago

Literally had someone try to tell me this the other day when the ceasefire news came out... That didn't last.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I mean, glassing Palestine is a solution. One might even say a final solution.

[–] P00ptart 3 points 1 day ago

Well, at least it'll make the land less enticing to Israel?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago

I was more making fun of the articles about trump being responsible for the cease fire talked about yesterday that is falling apart today.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago

I'm stocking up on some of my hobby supplies specifically because I think he'll raise prices, like he's literally said he would multiple times.

MAGA Voters: "Derp derp, he said he do thing, yup yup, we believe, yup yup, dat mean he gon do it, yup. Them eggs and them beers are gunna be incredibly affordable anyday now, yup yup"

[–] ninjabard 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Many Americans doubt Trump. End of statement.

[–] Goodmorningsunshine 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Americans don't doubt Trump. Fascists who voted for fascism but thought somehow they'd be ok doubt Trump.

[–] ninjabard 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

People who voted for The Leopards Won't Eat My Face aren't Americans. Traitors to democracy to a one.

[–] Goodmorningsunshine 1 points 8 hours ago

Kinda my point

[–] cm0002 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

At this point I'm just hoping he doesn't plunge us into The Great Depression 2: Electric Breadaloo

So great we stuck it to bLuEMaGa on that one single issue amiright single issue voters?

[–] P00ptart 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Lol, I don't see how this won't be significantly worse than that. In fact, when the economy is down, that's when it's the easiest for the richest people to enrich themselves further, buying companies, properties, and things when people are forced to sell for bottom dollar. And all those people are little baby birds chirping at big daddy trump to destroy the economy, so they can buy up everything, thinking they can recover the economy and eat astronomical profits.

That's the plan anyway.

[–] cm0002 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Ya know your comment reminded me that the great depression is what led to the New Deal which brought the most significant worker reforms and regulations in US history.

So maybe a Great Depression 2 would suck, but after we might get New Deal 2: Electric Healthcarealo so...there's that

[–] P00ptart 3 points 1 day ago

That's very optimistic lol

[–] RememberTheApollo_ 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

It takes a little while for mismanagement to negatively affect the economy and the recession to take hold. Patience. He’ll get there.

[–] [email protected] -3 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah uh deflation is actually considered very bad, not sure where people are getting this expectation from.

[–] SoftTeeth 2 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

Wealth redistribution is good.

But nothing will meaningfully improve until the rich fear for their lives

[–] theUwUhugger -3 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

He said so in an interview? Tho, not just the first year

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Are you saying you believe what he says?

[–] theUwUhugger 0 points 14 hours ago

I do in this instance?

Are we not supposed to believe a politician backtracking on his election promises just after he won said election with them?
