Aaaahh please use punctuation

It would make it infinitely more understandable if you wrote:

Normalize saying "is that a furry thing?" whenever a guy says he is an alpha

[–] somethingsnappy 27 points 1 month ago (3 children)

You. Couldn't, understand! That.?

[–] Sea_pop 19 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Nah I had trouble as well. I don't like having to adopt an altered mindset to read something.

[–] somethingsnappy 3 points 1 month ago

There should be a comma after "Nah." Are you an "alpha" trying to distract from the conversation?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

~~think~~ < adopt an altered mindset

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

"Couldn't, understand!" is a wild sentence, wtf does it mean?

No, because periods at the end of a sentence are unnecessary if there are no further sentences.

Though a period for the first sentence in my comment would've made sense

Double standard.

Yeah, my brain jammed trying to understand the first sentence which wasn't, in fact, a sentence.

Alpha isn't a real thing in the way it was originally described, wolf packs are a family stricture not a group of random dudes following the toughest ones. The "alphas" so to speak, are the parents and the "betas" are the children. We need to stop using outdated terminology from a retracted study in common language.

That's why we should normalize asking "is it a furry thing?"

Dressing up in animal costumes to fuck has as much to do with real wolves as alpha/beta pack dynamics.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Very true, would probably get them to drop it quickly too.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Good luck convincing the manosphere to drop it

Calling it a "furry thing" is very likely to be successful if done in sufficient quantity

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They'd do it in a heartbeat if people started thinking it was a furry thing.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They’d do it in a heartbeat if people started ~~thinking~~ saying it was a furry thing.

In particular, once women start calling openly them out for being furries , they'll drop the issue. XD

[–] NateNate60 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Since when have these people cared about the opinions of women

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Since they enjoyed heterosexual sex with them, and only if it could lead to the possibility of having sex with them. Actually they only ever care if there's potential for them to have sex (if they consider the lady attractive) otherwise they couldn't care less.

"Alpha/Beta" kinda makes sense to describe the manosphere when you consider the context of the study. If you force a bunch of unfamiliar wolves together in an abusive environment, cruel hierarchies can develop. If you live in a society that alienates, dehumanizes, and forces inhumane scarcity, people might find comfort in hierarchical power dynamics. It's not natural to desire to be an alpha, but the result of a manufactured environment.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

I think the term as they mean it originated from wolf behavior in captivity rather than in the wild.

"You're an alpha? I happen to be a power bottom, pretty boy! Why don't you come back to my place later and I'll put on my mursuit." seductive wink

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Mursuits imply the existence of goldsuits and frankincensesuits.

"Anyone who MUST say they are an alpha is NOT an alpha." - Tywin Lannister.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Kids hate this one trick

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Anyone who self-identifies as a beta is definitely a beta, though.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's actually an omegaverse thing you uncultured fool

[–] davidagain 3 points 1 month ago

Isn't that the point?

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

A friend of mine said that he wanted to get with a wolf. I asked him (out of genuine curiosity) if it was a furry thing.

Nope, it's gay slang; like bear or otter. I got a chuckle out of him though!

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 month ago

There are two wolves inside you 🥴

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Same with mewing and anything that ends in maxxing

[–] TotallynotJessica 4 points 1 month ago

I feel like people who use those terms are less likely to care about being "weird"

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Is that a furry rule?
