Think of it like a video game HUD where there's just text floating above a person's head where you see all their political beliefs, including the degree of bigotry (if any), or whether or not the person believes in the use of violence to acheive polical goals, basically every little detail that would accurately depict people's political beliefs. Your beliefs are also visible to others. This effect has 1KM radius, including people above and below you.

So, how fucked are you?

(Think of all the authorities in your area that can see your beliefs, including the beliefs regarding the recent incident...)

I wish everyone could see and understand what I believe. I think it would make it so much easier to talk to people.

As a something-between-liberal-and-leftist-with-a-hint-of-arm-yourself-to-fight-the-increasingly-popular-Nazis (is there a word for this?) in the middle of the cousin-fuckingly deep south... yeah I probably wouldn't even survive the trip home from work.

I’d be fine every where I go unless there’s a lot of religious people around.

I’m in Oklahoma. Considering this question makes me nervous.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Funny. I moved from Oklahoma to California in March. I couldn't take the idea of raising my daughter there. It's nice here, I suppose, but I see almost as many trump flags here as I did there. Granted, there are way more people here so it's only natural they do exist. I just didn't think they would be so open about it. I'm sure some of that has to do with where in California I'm at, but it made me realize this shit is everywhere. At least, for now, my daughter will have access to what she needs or wants in the event something awful happens or if she decides she's not who she was born as.

Long story short, these right wing nuts are very much displaying their politics for the world to see, no matter where they are.

No one cares about anyone's political views. The world will carry on like normal.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Low to moderate. Lower than it would be if I wasn't a white male, because is the world we live in.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago

Completely, because without privacy you'd be functionally guaranteed a civil war.

Reality is nuanced; labels aren't.

I give it 48 hours before I'm a corpse.

Ohio. In a region with a high percentage of trump supporting retired military (how tf that is even a demographic is beyond understanding)

[–] captainlezbian 3 points 4 days ago

Oh I'm so fucking dead. Like, queer anarchist factory worker in Ohio dead

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

What kinda Googlebook data powers are those that know me better than I know myself?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

Probably dead. On the other hand, it'd be easier to tell who I'm safe around.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

I'd say pretty fucked because people with suppressed bigotry who didn't publicly express those views due to shame, societal expectations etc now have an easy way to find each other as well as their enemies. They'll also have no more reason to try to hide their intentions. And unfortunately I feel like there might be more of those people than people willing to stand against them.

Universal Healthcare? Fuck I'd settle for Healthcare that works.

Just... anything I want anything good, any change possible. Obviously that makes me a 'traitor' to society or whatever. Why does it just keep getting worse?!

So anyway, they'd burn me at the stake.

[–] themeatbridge 3 points 4 days ago

I think a lot of people wouldn't like me as much as they already don't.

My opinions and political beliefs are proven fact so everyone can just look at me for the truth

I'd be assassinated by pig before I took ten steps.

[–] sanguinepar 2 points 4 days ago

I'd be fine, I think. Might find out one or two things about neighbours that they'd rather wasn't known, but I don't think there's anyone who would take great offence at my views, even if they opposed them. And I've nothing I'd want to hide.

I actually kind of like this scenario, as a way for people to understand that what they think about something may be far from the majority position.

[–] FabioTheNewOrder 2 points 4 days ago

Oh no, people now will know I am a stoic communist and real socialist even without me plastering my political believes in each discussion even vaguely related to politics or economics.

Nice

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

Depends who's looking. Most of the poor and middle class ~~asking~~ align with my views, if I don't say scary words like "communist” and "socialist"; Those with huge incomes might have a problem. And my ex who aligns with my views but votes against them because they somehow think these people care about them.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

I'm an anarchist but I've never wanted to hurt the people around me; so i'm not sure.
