TL;DR: more brain-dead fools who, at their core, genuinely do care about the working class but are too stupid to see the mountain of evidence to show that Trump’s “love” for the working class is as real as unicorn farts. Others also want “change” even if that change is them going from having rights to not having rights, and a few are the worthless protest voters as well.

I honestly still don’t get it, but I don’t have the level of brainrot of these people so maybe that’s a good thing.

Real ‘salt of the earth’ people.

They aren't stupid. They're reacting intelligently to the information they've been saturated in. Unfortunately that information is maliciously poor.

[–] NocturnalEngineer 8 points 1 month ago

They're dumb as shit.

Misinformation is ample & fully aware "the impressionables" get targeted on social media... but unless they've been living on a different planet they're fully aware of Trump's history. His felony convictions alone were global news.

I said that years ago but times change. The nonsense they need to convince themselves of is absolutely wild and it must take a herculian daily effort on their part to maintain their collective insanity if we decide to say they aren’t stupid.

So much of what they hear should qualify as the moment they went “hey, wait a second” but they just keep on going deeper and deeper. They are fools and everyone else needs to deal with that.

There's an ethical obligation not to let yourself be a rube. They failed in that.

[–] Moneo 1 points 1 month ago

This is the most libbed up comment I've ever seen.

Y'all are fucked until you figure this shit out.

[–] Moneo 3 points 1 month ago

Not to mention the fact that democrats/liberals have consistently failed to counter message against this propaganda or even acknowledge the issues that face americans.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

But he was already president for 4 years and everyone on the planet knows how incompetent he is and how little he cares. This isn't a: let's see if the fat pedo is a good president, it's a case of: we (should) already know he's incompetent but we also hate brown people just as much.

All this republican nazi propaganda is blatant. Nobody gets the excuse of thinking any of it's true. It presents as horseshit, not even as some genuine misunderstanding.

Nobel laureate right here.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Surprisingly, used the correct you're.

Probably got autocorrect adding the apostrophe version to everything they type.

[–] ATDA 2 points 1 month ago

My phone screen's rouch perception is so bad I'd be checked by a doctor if my keyboard typing weren't normal. I get so fed up I just leave the errors half the time assuming people will just get the message...

You are not going to win 2028 by making fun of republicans. Honestly you look pathetic to me. You're on lemmy shitting on republicans as a way to make yourself feel better about losing the election, it's sad.

Pick yourself up, wake the fuck up, and spend your energy on something that is actually productive. For example, holding the democratic party responsible for their shitty policies and absolute dog shit campaign.

But also you signified change. Trump signified change. I've said lately, Trump sounds more like you.

I'd feel seriously offended if I was AOC

[–] Moneo 5 points 1 month ago

Y'all are seriously failing to see what happened this election.

Joe Rogan endorsed Bernie Sanders in 2020(or 2022?).

Many of Trump supporters just want their lives to get better. They may be incapable of identifying that Trump is a charlatan, but they aren't incapable of seeing someone like Bernie Sanders and realizing he genuinely has their best interests in mind. They may be deluded in thinking the Republican party represents their interest, but they are correct in identifying that the democrats represent corporate interests.

Don't get me wrong, many of these people are xenophobic and republican ideology exploits and feeds that.

My point is that many these people can be swayed and will vote for a candidate like Bernie Sanders or AOC. Someone who actually has their best interests in mind. Someone who, like Bernie Sanders, promises to fight against corporate interests, promises health care for everyone, and promises a livable wage. Most of all, someone who acknowledges that shit is fucked up right now and needs to change. Harris' campaign did none of that.

The democratic/liberal strategy of "Trump is a fascist, vote for us" will never work. It didn't work in 2016 and it didn't work in 2024. Making fun of Trumpers is not an effective strategy for achieving progress, it's counter productive. You are signalling to them that you like things the way they are and that you don't give a shit about their material needs. You're confirming their belief that liberals are out of touch elites (which honestly I agree with).

If democrats/liberals want to win in 2028 they need to stop this shit ASAP. Stop wallowing in your bubble making yourself feel better by shitting on Trump supporters and start pressuring the democratic party to fucking get their shit together. All you're doing is reinforcing in yourself the idea that democrats are good and that anyone who doesn't vote for them is a racists moron. You're blinding yourself to what's actually happening.

All of these comments pointing out the irony and stupidity of poor people voting for someone like Trump disgust me. Wake the fuck up and start using your energy in productive ways, please.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes 0 points 1 month ago

Why? Because someone too god damn stupid to know which end to stuff the food in said something incorrect about you?

[–] aesthelete 11 points 1 month ago

These responses would make me want to pack up my congressional office and resign.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

You mean to say Trump has falsely tapped in to working class resentment and there was an opportunity to to actually get more votes from, by definition, the largest demographic group in the country if those concerns were addressed in a clear and direct manner?

Crazy.

Better just call them all dumb and learn nothing from the examples.
