~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable, neither is supporting people who actively want to kill those groups. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Gay man here in Missouri. A lot of my trans friends and me are very concerned about our futures.
You should be. We should all be concerned about our futures. I'm a white, CIS guy, and I'm concerned. We're completely off the rails now.
I'm a white CIS guy as well, and I'm worried to the point I can barely function this morning.
I work at a not for profit hospital that's already on a shoestring budget. Any cuts to government healthcare coverage and my department may as well get slashed in half
In a country with a barely functioning (for the non-wealthy) medical system, it can still get worse.
I'm concerned about your futures too. My daughter is queer and as of 2 am this morning, we've been working on plans to get to the UK, where I have dual citizenship.
My boyfriend ~~totes not domestic partner of 7 years, because I'm trying to get on SSDI~~ does have dual citizenship in 🇮🇪 (also an O'Brien lol).
Can you get emergency married and have him get you over?
Best of luck to you and your family to get out of there as quick and easy as possible.

Any chance you and your friends can hijack a decent State and dig a giant moat around it?
I think our best hope is to move to California and then wait for The Big One to break CA off from the rest of the US.
Move to Alaska. We need more left-leaning people. We're already starting to go purple and our population is so low that it probably won't take much to get us to go solidly blue.
Plus, you won't have to wait for a massive earthquake to separate you from the rest of the country. Canada will do that.

I understand, but also, please don't. As bad as it is right now, the world is still a better place with you in it. Call or text 988 if you're feeling suicidal, there are people there ready to listen and help.

But Star Trek is a great example of what can come after e.g. Bell Riots.
We learn and grow through pain.
You seem to have missed the global nuclear war that happened between the bell riots and shiny space communism.
Wouldn't mind avoiding that, though it seems like thats getting more and more probable.
Things might get better, after everyone dies for stupid bullshit, but that's hardly a comfort.
