I think this is one of two pizza cake comics that I don't hate

[–] Rolando 20 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I'm not sure I remember correctly, wasn't that artist very pro-Reddit during the API protest?

[–] JusticeForPorygon 15 points 2 weeks ago

Was she?

Damn, that sucks.

[–] Poxlox -4 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

They're also just a part of another general trend of making nsfw comics with obvious kid appeal and having an onlyfans in their almylinks shit

[–] chuckleslord 8 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I'm sorry, but I'm pushing back on this. In what way do they make anything appealing to children? And even if they did, why does that mean they can't have an onlyfans?

[–] HelloHotel 2 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

I understand what they are getting at, finger family nursery rhime thingies or sloppy mobile games, throw in sex appeal to get curious people excited for sex.

icon for a mobile game, originally shown on a website not intended to be age restricted.

ad on youtube search "cats wailing funny"

Anyone with a brain developed enough to understand that there is a person creating the work, they are getting somthing out of the transaction and they are really scetchy will likely get creeped out. Only the vunerable will click on somthing like this. Some of this stuff is designed to appeal to kids specifically (bright colors, ideas and themes that are farmiliar to or amusingly subversive to kids).

HOWEVER: I do not know if Pizza Cake is specifically doing this, I did not see anything wrong from a quick glance.

[–] chuckleslord 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah, but there is a big difference between "deceptive ad tactics designed to get my skinner box in the hands of kids who don't know any better to pump them for money" and "artist who creates free comics for reddit (not a children's platform) also has an adult onlyfans/patreon (explicitly stated as such) to pay bills".

But thank you for trying to clarify their stance when they couldn't be bothered to try to explain what they meant beyond some easy-to-repeat soundbite that had nothing to do with it.

no matter how mean i feel saying it, it is a 'fast to draw' art style. They must have asocated fast to draw == lazy and exploititive when Pizza Cake is likely trying to make somthing people will enjoy and gave themself a strict timetable.

Mabe r/comics is a hellhole and Pizza Cake comics are uploaded there too. to their standards its "just another instance"

[–] Poxlox -1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It takes 3 clicks on reddit to get to her patreon nudes, it's just common for these comics people to post thinly veiled sexual content that really appeals to minors, and then lead to an OF or similar. R/comics is just like that now

[–] chuckleslord 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Managed to respond without answering my questions. Nice! I also like the statement that says that the sexual content appeals to minors. No context or how, why, or what the hell you're even talking about.

So, it sounds like you heard this complaint from someone else, about the "morals" or whatever the fuck you want to call it (cause you never responded to my questions) about the comics community on a different website, and you're parroting it here without any additional thought.

Fuck off with your hollow moral grandstanding that you can't even bother to defend. These comic creators are hurting no one, go find an actual, worthy Crusade to fight, like against capitalism or human trafficking, instead of conflating modern societal taboos with low morality.

[–] Poxlox -2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Wow, why would I bother responding with that kind of aggro response. You want me to defend that I think her content on r/comics appeals to minors? I've seen it and believe it takes a lot of kid-focused, immature themes, and it takes sexual tones without even being nsfw. Generally to peddle her Patreon, which at higher levels gives you access to her porn. I don't have to audit her content to appease your belief that it doesn't appeal to minors, and especially don't care to because you're a rude ass.

[–] chuckleslord 1 points 2 weeks ago

I only became rude when you used your response to me as a sound bite rather than to respond to me.

Cool, you have one answer. How does it appeal to children? Answer: kid-focused, immature themes. I completely disagree, everything I've seen is pretty generic millennial focused, so more like late twenties to mid thirties, but whatever. You have very technically answered the question.

And your answer for my second question? Cause that one is kind of the crux of your whole argument. If you need reminding, why does that mean they can't have an onlyfans? To expand that question, even if they make content for children, why can they not also make content only for adults?

[–] scrion 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

While the comics are hilariously unfunny, that is probably not a fair description of the creator. I don't even know what the "obvious kid appeal" is. Eventually, censorship is the responsibility of parents, not content creators.

Finally, the OF is mostly cosplay pictures somehow related to the comic...? ~~AFAIK there is no nudity involved. ~~

Turns out, I was indeed mistaken. There are most definitely nudes out there. Nothing wrong with that, mind you, just correcting my own statement.

[–] Poxlox 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

She 100% has porno with more than her nudes

[–] scrion 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Could be, I honestly know nothing about that 🤷🏽‍♂️ Is that a speculation / an assumption, or based on anything?

In any case, more power to her, I guess. (Subjectively) unfunny comics and porn is a rare combination, but hey, whatever works.

Edit: You are right, there are definitely nude pictures out there. Don't know about porn (I don't consider nudes porn, but YMMV) and I don't fault the person for that, but yes, I was definitely wrong about that.

[–] laserm 1 points 2 weeks ago

Sorry I didn't know this I just saw a funny comic and downloaded it 😭

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

I wouldn't say I'm a fan but I'm curious what makes you hate them?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

The comics are... idk not good? Like they make me feel annoyed in a way i just can't quite put my finger on... they are usually just this lady complaining about her kids or some other rich suburban house mom shit

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago

I totally get that

[–] jose1324 3 points 2 weeks ago

Supremely accurate description

[–] [email protected] 23 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Why are they looking at his word bubble?

[–] frigidaphelion 27 points 2 weeks ago

Never been that stoned before, eh?

[–] niktemadur 8 points 2 weeks ago

The uncertainty wave function under that mask wouldn't have collapsed into Patton Oswalt... until you meddling kids showed up.

Context:

  1. Scooby Doo episodes are usually about some dude who dresses up as a ghost or monster for some nefarious reason, e.g. scare people away from a theme park to put it out of business so they can buy the land for cheap or whatever. So episodes would usually end with the gang catching the ghost, unmasking him, and being him to explain why they did it.
  2. Shaggy (the guy in the green t-shirt) is often asserted to be a "stoner" because he is paranoid and always hungry for snacks. Often also the rest of the gang, by association.

The Joke:

They have mistaken Patton Oswalt - who has a perfectly legitimate reason for being dressed as a ghost - for a villain. Because they are high.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

Aah so he's a famous actor! That makes more sense. I was just confused, since there were episodes wgre they uncovered some actor guy to he the monster. (I did watch the show)
