There was some article on my local news site about steps the council is taking to combat climate change.

Meanwhile, some guy in the comments saying “It’s lovely in my garden…”

Thanks, Nigel, you crusty old bastard. Few more years and we’ll be putting you in the cars, you fucking dinosaur.

If only they could actually make themselves that useful.

We were extremely foolish to think for even a moment they would accept so much as a crumb of accountability.

I take a small amount of solace knowing we'll all suffer and die the same gruesome death from this. Even the ultra rich can't really truly out run this one.

Subterranean city o.o

One of the Koch brothers is already dead. They are gonna get out scot free.
This is one of the times I wish I was religious so I could believe they actually go to hell.

I don’t really like the conspiracy theory of the moon landing being fake next to mass surveillance after 9/11 - which really happened as shown by Snowden.

To deny things like e.g. the mass surveillance after 9/11 does not make us more believable and doesn’t make it more likely to convince climate change deniers.

bruh.. You maybe missed the entire part where there are lots of people who think 9/11 was an inside job, false flag, whatever they think. Ever heard the phrase "jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams"

That's the reference here. Not that we went into a crazy surveillance state.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But the fact is that 9/11 , whatever kind of job was ( inside? External? Mixed? ) , was used to push a surveillance state, as they waited for the right occasion. As covid with lockdowns and cashless society push. The fear that climate change will be used to push other autoritarian measures it is not conspiracy, is a fact.

Only a crisis - actual or perceived - produces real change. When that crisis occurs, the actions that are taken depend on the ideas that are lying around. -Milton Freidman

Joe Biden famously claimed that the PATRIOT Act was based on his legislation, a counter-terrorism omnibus bill that had failed previously.

They always seem to have plenty of unsavory ideas "lying around."

i think it would have worked if it had the word fake before disasters, implying the conspiracy theories that all of those were hoaxes made by the government instead of just being about the reactions to them

The denial of mass surveillance and mass control make climate change as a fake news. You deny mass surveillance, so your theory is fake.

Are we gonna ignore the bearded Chad just tanking the raging flood waters in the first panel? Dude don't give a fuck.

We’re not talking about it, but we’re definitely not ignoring it. 👀

lmao damn Jewish space lasers!

Is that a real belief or an exaggeration?

The leading Democratic mischief-maker is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who advocates some left-wing views I consider simplistic and impractical and, in some cases, poll badly. The top example of a conservative mischief-maker, presented in perfect symmetry, is Marjorie Taylor Greene.

This author is like Shrodinger's dumbass: I can't tell whether he's being facetious or if he's actually pulling the BoTh SiDEs card, as if these two reps are even remotely comparable.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 year ago

Oh, for sure. Just the first thing that came up.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Exaggeration......... buuut, remember when people said Billy Gates put 5G microchips in the vaccine? We're not that far.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Heh. If we had tech like that, a lot of today's diseases wouldn't exist.

That crowd has moved on to Gates doing experimental malaria medicine tested in Africa to cHaNgE tHeIr DnA because of "globalists" or something

First comes the fully automated luxury gay space communism. Only then can we build the jewish space lasers.

I would love to see the same cartoon with CEO and politics denial or blatant lies.

While they get new minions for paying their bill...
